Shouldn't be too much longer before we see the actual hurricane. We're still seeing rain bands. Already lost a small palm that was planted last year....base is still there....not sure where the fronds are...

electricity is flickering, but seems to be holding strong.

I'm back

Cat & Zeff - Glad to hear this thing isn't as strong as predicted (it's the first question I asked leaving the dr's office). I hope that's your experience - that it is less disruptive than predicted. With any luck we will see you both on line soon!

Loriann - moving and leaving no forwarding address might be cheaper in the long run

TkGlenn - It's great to see you! How are things?

I ended up going to the Urgent Care place down the road. I called the insurance co. nurse line assuming they would tell me to check in with my doc tomorrow but they recommended seeing someone within a couple of hours.Ah well, I didn't have any major plans for my day anyway. Apparently my freak status continues - I had a transient global amnesia event. Quite unusual, of course. The great news is they don't repeat and I can go about my life without concern. They do recommend I have some imaging done to make sure there is no area of concern but it's not urgent. It's good to feel like me again and not some super cautious person afraid to do anything. Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Can someone explain to me how the exercise challenge works? I put my name in, with the dates listed out. I have no idea how this works now. Do we keep track of it at home, then update at the end of the month?
Well, I have been sick all weekend. Stinks, but I would rather be rested for the weekday than dragging with the flu! Dh was home, so I got a lot of rest, now he is sick!!
I forced myself to take a walk today, alone, with my iPod. I went so much farther than I had expected and came home EXHAUSTED!! It was good for me!!
I made a few recipes today, I am prepared for a few days. Made the crustless lemon pie today, anyone try that? It looked good!!
Happy Labor Day! I did nothing but take my walk, lay in the hammock and read and watch the kids in the sprinkler. Enjoying what is left of summer!

Jenny

Jenksihere, each day, or whenever you are able, you edit your Exercise challenge post and update what you did for that day. For example, today is September 1st and I did 1 hr of cardio, (gotta brag, I'm so proud of myself, I'm usually so lazy) so I've gotta go edit my post and type in 60 minutes next to September 1st. Hope that helped.

Jenny - Mel explained it great. Edit your post during the month to add in your exercise and total your time as you go. Somewhere in the first couple of days of the month, I go in look at the totals. The highest person becomes that month's exercise queen and those who have at least 1000 minutes become princesses. Next month I may need someone else to handle the totals because I will be at Wood Badge Oct 2-5.

Well, I got the grass mowed and had 10 minutes to scarf down some lunch and then we headed to the hospital. We stayed for 7 hours with a break to run out to dinner at the nearest place (BBQ). So I wasn't totally OP but did okay considering. Robert is doing much better except he has trouble breathing when he isn't on the oxygen so he is scheduled for a chest x-ray tomorrow. This has been very good for our relationship. We're more able to talk now which is good for Brian. And I found someone to watch Brian while I'm at Wood Badge in one month! Criss is a nanny (for babies now but school age before) and she is willing to take him for the 3 nights (and then 3 nights two weeks later). She'll make sure he gets to visit with his Dad and that he gets to school and picked up. And he knows her so he is comfortable with her.
