Default What films are you watching?

I was inspired by the book thread obviously. Someone mentioned they were reading Atonement after having watched the film. I just watched the movie the other night, and I absolutely loved it (although it gave me a depressed feeling.)

The last movie I saw was part 2 of The Narnia Chronicles, Prince Caspian. It was good, but nowhere as good as the original.

No cinemas around here but I did see The Queen in November 2006 when I played hooky from a Synod meeting in Kingston.

I saw that on Cable too. It was good but I Much prefered Mrs Brown (also about a queen)!

We saw WALL-E this past weekend. I really liked it, although about 90% of it made me want to cry (themes that go over kids' heads--even though I wanted to cry, it's still a cute kids' movie!).

We're pretty big on scary movies. Before WALL-E, the last movie we saw was The Happening. What a disappointment

This summer, we're excited for the new Batman movie (Dark Knight, I believe). I had never seen a Batman movie until the new Batman Begins came out, and I really liked it.

heh, last night, Jeff watched Beerfest on our On Demand cable. Now there's a fine example of superior cinematography, let me tell you

I watched "Shall We Dance" with Astaire and Rogers on Saturday and had to finish it on Sunday. It was too cute. The comedy back then was so subtle yet so funny. We saw "Ghost Rider" on Sunday afternoon which is a good movie that we can watch together. My next shipment from Netflix is "Funny Face" with Astaire and Hepburn and DH's is "Casino Royale".

For during-the-week watching, we're currently working on our second round of "My Boys" Season 1 on DVD. (We just got it last Wednesday!!!)

I took my 13 year old son to see IronMan a couple of weeks ago and we both enjoyed it! Personally, I can't wait to see the Dark Knight - I just LOVE the new Batman series!

We saw Kung Foo Panda yesterday afternoon. It was cute. Enjoyable for the entire family.

We don't get out to see movies at the theater often, so the next one we are definitely planning is Dark Knight.

This past weekend, DH and I stayed up all night and watched all four Tremors movies. #1 is still the best, but they are decent.

Last weekend dh and I went and saw "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" at the cheapie theater. Very funny.....raunchy, but funny. We have 2 cheap theaters near us so we usually take advantage of the hot movies when they go there.

I saw "Sex and the City" when it came out in the theaters. I didn't watch the series on TV, so that's my guilty pleasure now - I've been renting and watching each season on DVD.

Default Sorry so long.... :-)

Just to let you guys know, I meant both movies you recently have seen in theaters as well as have seen on TV or rented. See, I just borrowed Atonement on DVD from a friend. And I really, really recommend it! It is a bit hard to follow at first, but when the ending wraps up, you understand everything. It reminds me of Titantic, somewhat, although there is no sinking ship or anything like that. It wasn't something my BF enjoyed (or a lot of husbands and bf's might enjoy, in fact he fell asleep within like, 10 minutes) but I personally really did like it. It might not be for everyone though.

I am envious of everybody who's got to see all these films in the theaters recently, I haven't done that in awhile and would like to. BF sees no point, because he always gets the latest movies first, but I think it would be so fun to go watch stuff on the big screen once in awhile. Of course, I also love it when I turn on the TV and there's the Saturday movie, and it turns out to be a good one. (Only have like 4 channels, currently.) I have JUST heard of Wall-e yesterday, it sounds like something my BF would watch because he is a kid's movie geek. And the way Jillybean described it, about some of the content being over a kid's head, makes me want to see it as well. So The Happening sucked? I am dissapointed because I wanted to see it, they've been hailing that as M Night's best movie since The 6th Sense... after his other flops, The Village and The Lady in the Water (watched 'em, but they made no sense.) Probably will still see it when it comes out on DVD since like I said, BF gets all the new movies, but now I'm not so geared up for it, knowing what to expect. I just watched the first Chronicles of Narnia movie so I want to see the 2nd, dissapointed that it's not as good as the first.

BF also wants to see Kung Fu Panda, like I said, he = animated movie geek. I would watch it because I have such a girl crush on Angelina Jolie. Speaking of, I really want to see Wanted, the new movie where she plays an assassin. Not sure if it's playing yet, seen the commercials, has anyone seen it? It's got that SO HOT irish actor that was in Atonement, oh my god, I have such a crush on that man...

I am really excited about seeing the new Harry Potter whenever it comes out (yes, yes I am a Harry Potter geek, books and movies!) I want to see that in the theaters. I see lots of good titles here, movies I would like to see but have forgotten about, so I'm gonna write that down on my "movies to see" list. I didn't see the Sex and the City series either but also want to see the film. And the Queen, I was interested in that, is that the one with Helen Mirren? The one she won the oscar for? Or am I confused with Cate Blanchett?

Ooh, I see a few mentions of the new Batman movie. I am not into Batman but I DO want to see the new one, because wasn't that Heath Ledger's last role or something? Either way, from what I've heard and seen, his portrayal of the Joker is supposed to be the best ever done. He looks so terrifying in it, so I really want to see it.

Let the titles keep on rollin', I need to hit up the video store. I did want to see Lars and the Real girl as well, also I have been trying like FOREVER to rent Hard Candy, starring Ellen Paige I think it is, where she plays a young girl who "meets" with one those perverts who like teens on the internet, and when they meet, she turns the tables on him and it's supposed to be a bit gruesome (but I say, go girl, after watching Dateline with Chris Hansen enough, those guys really disgust me.) Has anyone seen that yet? Tell me if it's good or not if you have. Everytime I try to rent it at our local little rinky dink dvd store, they tell me that it's out. Which is odd because I didn't think that many people knew about it, so I think they don't have it and are just lying about it. Okay what else have you guys seen recently, in the theaters, on cable, and rentals?

OOh and I wanna see Hancock... Love Will Smith. I am Legend was AWESOME!!! And god, he's hot.
