    *drum rolls*

    11 pounds!!!!

  • Jonsgurl-

That is awesome- congratulations on your weight loss-wishing you continued success!! I've been on about a month also, so I'll keep the drum roll going-

    5 pounds gone here!
  • That's great ladies!
  • Great news!
  • Congratulations!! Isn't it fun to see results on the scale??

At the end of this week I will have been on S.B. for 4 weeks! I will weigh in on Thursday so am anxious to see if I too have another victory such as yours! At not quite 3 weeks I had lost 8 1/2 lbs!!
  • That's wonderful news! Keep it up!
  • Congrats lbug and frustrateddieter too!!

I am actually going to disneyworld for the first time in May!! Going to be celebrating my 5 year anniversary with my Hubby and just getting alittle fun in before he deploys in June

    I want another 5 before I leave.
  • Congratulations, frustrateddieter, jonsgurl, and lbug!!!! Sounds like you are all doing amazing!!!!

Jonsgurl--How excited are you to go to Disney??? That will be so fun! Especially with a new, smaller wardrobe
  • I think I am more excited than my 3 1/2 year old son. LOL I told my hubby he was buying me one of those ear hats and would have to deal with me wearing it LOL
  • LOL They say it makes you feel like a kid again! You might as well embrace it
  • Okay, well I've posted this in other forums, so I suppose I'll post it here, too. I have been a life long yo-yo dieter, and I have serious issues with weighing myself. Well, I finally weighed myself yesterday after 1 week on South Beach, and I weighed 172 or 171 ( I have 2 scales, and choose to believe the one that weighs me lighter!) But today, I weighed 169! It may be only water weight, but I am still encouraged! Also, although I am in phase 1, I have had fruit a few times, but have tried to stick with the plan. Anyway, I would love to hear how others have survived phase 1!
  • Congrats on the great results, all!

TRimom40, check out the Phase 1 threads through the archived posts. You'll get lots of great advice there!

Jonsgurl, what branch is your husband? My Tom is in the Air Force and is currently at school at Hurlbert Field before we leave for Ramstein in May. We have a three and a half year old, too! (And a six year old and a nearly-two year old...)

    Kara
  • Kara--where is Ramstein? Is that overseas?
  • Jonsgurl!!! That's great! I think even better than the weightloss is how GOOD you feel and how heathy you are on this plan!

Have a great time at Disney! I used to live close enough to Anaheim to have an annual pass to Disneyland and I loved it! Hope you love wearing your ears!

TRimom, Congrats on the loss! As I'm sure you know, being a "scale ho" (as we frequent weighers sometimes call ourselves in jest...) has its disadvantages. One of them is that the scale is not only vastly inaccurate, but it doesn't tell us what we lost (water, fat, muscle)...just that we weigh less (or more). The best thing to do is to take an average of your daily weigh-ins for the week, or to limit yourself to weighing in once a week or once a month. When/If you're ready to try limiting your weigh-ins, the chicks here have tons of helpful tips on how to do it.

As for P1, you definitely have to do it without fruit (without anything on the "avoid" list) for it to do what it promises--take away cravings. With the fruit in your diet, all you're technically doing is reducing your calorie intake. Even with the fruit, Phase 1 just isn't a healthy way to eat for the long term. So save yourself the frustration and stick to the plan faithfully for the two weeks, then move into Phase 2 when you can add in the fruit and eat in a more healthy way. It'll be SO much easier without the cravings. No plan ever worked for me until I found SBD because I always had cravings and felt deprived. After Phase 1, I lost all my cravings and was AMAZED! I hope you end up feeling the same way!
