I messed up. :(

  • I did manage to lose 7 pounds in two months, but I went and gained most of it back because I kept running out of foods and had to settle for everyone else's. If any of you are just starting South Beach, I can't stress this enough: pre-plan your meals!!! Well, I just started Phase One over again today. I hope it all goes a lot better this time around!
  • you don't say what your living arrangement is or why you run out of food or who is everyone else you have to depend on....

if you would like some help maybe give some of that info????
  • Hi nonentity! good luck to you on Ph1 this time around. You're right, plan, plan, plan, it will help so much. Don't be discouraged, the first time I tried South Beach, I failed miserably. The second time around I had found this board and knew about some of the pitfalls, and it went much more smoothly.
  • Glad you are buckling down and starting over again! Lessons learned, right? Failing to plan is planning to fail!

  • None, my husband doesn't even know I'm doing South Beach because I just cook healthy and it's good. I might throw him a baked potato in the microwave and not one for myself, but I normally do a grilled, roasted, or baked meat, salad and another vegetable. I just omit the bread and no-no's for myself. But, I don't have teenagers who are constantly wanting pizza and junk food.
  • Hang in there! You will get the hang of it soon. That is one of the great things about this way of life, is that you have the opportunity to figure out how to make it work for you by trial and error. You are eating real food. And it just takes planning and practice.

I have found a great helper in my husband. We are now shopping together, and he is actively helping me pick out food and help prepare the meals. It is such a relief to have him involved. When I first started he didn't know he was doing South Beach either. I have started phase one several times over the past several years, and when I do it just right - my husband was non the wiser!
