I'm starting to experiment with foods a little as I get closer to goal.

B: Greek yogurt, blueberries, 1/2 serving Ezekiel almond cereal

L: grilled mahi mahi, steamed broccoli, and field green salad

S: garlicky pickles (I love weekends!)

D: white bean soup w/escarole, veggie protein (Boca burger or sausage or something similar), mashed turnips

after workout snack: 1/2 grapefruit

Alright, weekends are rough for me. I really need to plan today and tomorrow and stick to it. So here's for today:
  • V8, 2 mini quiches w/SF maple syrup
  • tuna salad
  • salad (I need to make more dressing, too!)
  • cashew butter (this is slightly dangerous--I won't buy it again anytime soon because I LOVE it more than peanut butter!)
  • fish w/tartar sauce and mashed cauliflower

Why does life always have to get in the way? So much for my plan for today--I left to take Bean (puppy in my avatar photo) to the vet, and while I was gone Jeff's mother called and asked if we would come over. She lives 2 hours away, so that's 4 hours of driving we'll be doing, plus likely eating at her house for dinner. Meh, I'll figure something out for food. I always do, and I've been very good about making better choices even in tough situations

Yesterday ended up being:
  • V8, 2 mini quiche cups w/SF syrup
  • lunch out: plain pork chops (side of brown butter sauce), broccoli, side caesar salad (no croutons)
  • luckily, we ended up NOT having dinner at Jeff's mothers, so instead I had: 2 of the bacon-wrapped shrimp I made for Jeff and salad - romaine, baby spinach, sliced almonds, grilled chicken, and homemade Asian sesame dressing
  • cashew butter
Today's plan:
  • V8, 2 mini quiches w/sf syrup
  • salad - same as yesterday's dinner
  • tuna salad
  • chicken breast baked in homemade bbq sauce, topped w/avocado and thin-sliced Swiss cheese, mashed cauliflower
  • string cheese

Busy morning, so far I've managed a hardboiled egg, a glass of V8, cawfee of course, and a piece of celery with peanut butter. We're going to be out most of the day, so I've packed another egg, an apple, some raw cauliflower, a string cheese, and some turkey slices, so hopefully that will keep me going until we get back.
I stewed a couple of chickens this morning to make chicken noodle soup for dinner, and I'll make some chicken salad with some of the meat, so that'll be dinner with some random veggies thrown in. I'll probably have my usual yogurt snack after dinner. We have plans to watch a movie tonight, so that'll be my treat. I got in one on-plan day yesterday, so here's to another!
