South Beach rocks because I get to cook and eat delicious food and not feel deprived.
Also because I can have an occasional glass of wine or piece of chocolate.
SBD rocks because it is the only "diet" I have ever been on and felt in control. I do not obssess with food like have in the past. I love the fact that I don't have to count anything
I adore south beach because:
1. I hardly feel like I'm on a diet - it's more a way of life!
2. I love the fact my family is on the diet by default, and I know I'm feeling them foods that will keep them healthy
3. The amount of energy I have while on SB rocks!
Granted, I'm only 10lbs into this but it's been a great experience for me over the past month!
These are great! Let's keep adding as we go along!
I agree with everything y'all said. Every diet I've been on in the past has been too count-y, too complicated, or too restricted--and I was always thinking about how good it would be "afterwards," meaning that it would end and I'd be able to stop dealing with those annoying things!
With South Beach, I really feel as though I'm learning how to eat properly and healthfully for the rest of my life.
Yes, that's a good one for me too, luna.
SB rocks because it has taught me what sane, normal eating is all about. It's that secret that it seemed everybody else always knew, but I never really got.
I agree with not having to really count anything. Of course, being me, I track everything anyway to see how many calories, how much fat, how much protein, etc. I am taking in each day, but I don't HAVE to do that
I also like that I can stick with SB principles while still adhering to other goals I've set for myself. For example, I can focus on eating whole foods instead of lots of processed foods, avoid trans fats and HFCS, get at least 100g protein a day, etc. These are all things that have worked for me in the past, and they fit right in with SB.
I have always loved to cook, but this is teaching me to explore and be creative and try new things. I have discovered so many new foods and different ways of preparing the old ones. I am spending so much time in the kitchen and loving that. I have become quite the chef.
Not counting points, not weighing and measuring unless it's for a recipe, cooking new recipes that my family likes, feeling full in between meals, seeing the scale go down, wearing my "skinny" jeans again, being able to share here with others.
I love that SB is so forgiving. If you mess up, you just go back to P1 for a couple days to the full two weeks to smash those cravings and then head back to P2.
South Beach rocks because it's the only diet that has actually inspired me to learn to cook! And my fridge is really pretty now with all the colorful veggies and whole foods.
