Default Is this the right tomato sauce?

Hello chicas!

I hae some ground chicken I need to use up today, so I'd like to make meatballs! I went on a search this AM for some No Sugar Added Tomato Sauce. I found Hunt's No Suger Added (The only had this in an Italian Style Sauce). What do you think?

Ingredients: Tomato Puree (water, Tomato Paste), water, less than 2% of: salt, soybean oil, dehydrated onions, carrot fiber, spices (including soy lecithin), citric acid, xanthan gum, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, natural flavor. contains soy

I'm interested in learned to read labels (i never paid any attention before!) so i'm not sure which is revelant or not.

Thanks a lot!

I am not on SB - but I used to use that one all the time. My son didn't like chunky sauces - it's pretty tasty for a thin sauce.

I keep this brand on hand. My favorite is from Trader Joe's, but the Hunts is one I can pick up at the grocery store. It is a little thin, but good if you're using it in a lasagne or casserole type of dish.

Diddo on the hunts. They don't seem to add any sugar to most of their tomato products. I use hunts all the time.

That sounds wonderful actually. Do you mind if I ask you where you purchased that one? There have been a few stores I've looked around for that in and haven't found it yet.

I usually buy hunts at the commissary or Walmart. It's widely available.

When I don't have time to make my own (which is pretty often lately), I've been using Emeril's Gaalic sauce, 3 sugars, but no sugar is added I guess since none is listed in the ingredients

In "no sugad added" tomato sauces, the sugar in the nutritional info is fructose from the tomatoes so it's just fine.
