Default Oh my. I need a kick already.....

So my well meaning neighbor dropped off some muffins for the family. I ate my sb friendly breakfast.... then I ate a muffin, followed by some chocolate chips and a cracker before I stopped myself! What was I thinking???... actually I was thinking "What are you doing? Put that down!" Unfortunately I don't like being told what to do so I ate it all anyway.

End of the world? No. I'll get back on track with a big salad for lunch But I can't even get through the first week? Come on! I need these cravings to go away!!!!!!! It worked so well when I was on Phase 1 a few years back.

Anyone have a good swift kick to offer?

Default Sorry, no kicking here...

but I do feel for you. I always thought dieting would be so much easier if no one else was around. What I did when I started was throw my "food porn" away but unfortunately, could not do that with my kid's food. There is bad stuff here, too. I've been lucky so far and wish I could help but I don't know what is keeping me away from it. When I figure it out, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, at least throw out the choc chips unless you plan to make cookies and send them to your neighbor

O.K. here's a gentle kick You're going to do great. There are always going to be bumps in the road the important thing is you get right back up and don't let it keep you down. Just remember why you're doing this. Write it down if you have to and tape it to the fridge or the front door so kind hearted neighbors will go the other way with their treats.

Thanks. I feel better this morning. That muffin really did me in though. I felt pretty gross all day - bloated, sluggish - yuck. Lesson learned. I just wish I didn't have this compulsion to eat - although i imagine I wouldn't have a weight problem either.

Waiting for SB to works its magic and the cravings to dissappear

pumpkinseed, Good for you, getting right back on track again after your incident with the muffin! But if you are still experiencing cravings and are hungy, you should go back and re-examine just what you've been eating on Phase 1. Are hidden sugars sneaking their way into your diet? You shouldn't be having those cravings on Phase 1, it's designed to rid you of those cravings completely. And make sure you eat enough to fill you up at each meal, and get those snacks in, too. They're important to keep you feeling satisfied.

I love your determination and motivation to succeed. Hang in there, and good luck!

pumpkinseed, your post really made me smile! Not only do I completely relate to what happened but I just LOVE Grommit! 8-)

This morning I was feeling very lazy and did NOT want to cook OR eat eggs again. I started making some yummy cheese toast, something I adore. Halfway through I thought, "{Insert swear word}, what am I doing??" So I asked the kids, "Hey, does anyone want some cheese toast?" See, they always want to eat what I'm having, they LOVE cheese toast (genetically passed down), and I figured it was an easy out for me. Well, guess what? Of course, today of all days, they both politely said, "No thanks, Mom!" ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

So yes, I ate it.. and blamed them.... its a mother's right, right? 8-)

I did an extra 10 minutes on the elliptical as penance.

Mmmmm. Cheese toast.....

I am finding that the best motivation is how much better I feel. My diet had really slipped over the past year and just a week into it I feel so much better. I haven't been 100%, and I have been eating way too much cheese - but I feel so much better, not bloated, more energy. I hope that I can remember this feeling and be strong when temptation arises.
