What What??? Did someone say cawfee???Where Where!
Thanks fer crankin us up this morn LC... I love your little dancin chick!
Time to warm up the credit card.. Tis BLACK FRIDAYhere in the states. Where we kick of the capitalists' commercialism of the holiday season. DH and I have to run out to get a frigidaire and office furniture for the new home. The current owners were moving out wed/thurs and it was too crazy for us to come measure for the fridge space, so the owner was kind enough to do it.
Dh and I spent the holiday packing in between me tending to our Turkey. I stayed pretty much OP yesterday.. A slice or two of sweet potatoes did pass my lips, but I make them as SBD friendly as possible. Just some ICBINB, cinnamon and SF maple syrup and bake.
OK Chicks... we're off to "Appliance World"..whooooosh!

Morning Chick, I got my coffee and am catching up with some work.
Schatzi, good luck with the shopping...hopefully you get some really good bargains today...wear your battle gear!! It should be crazy out there. I would rather eat dirt than venture out into the fray, but it is a great day for bargains.
My only venture out today will be to bring my Mother to the post office and go to grocery store for a few things we ran out of. I had planned on turkey salad today, but we had very little left over after sending "care packages" off with our college students. (I just cooked a breast instead of whole turkey) I knew I should have cooked that second breast I bought, but it's in the freezer for another day.

Thanks for the coffee, L.C.!

Schatzi, This is the first year that I'm not going shopping, and I kind of miss it. My SIL and I always had our strategy all mapped out, sale flyers in hand, early in the morning, and we never ever ran into crowds or traffic jams and were usually back home by 10 am at the latest. It was fun! I think the people who wait until later in the day to venture out are the ones that have a miserable experience. Have fun shopping for your new office furniture and fridge!

Cat, to me, the best part of the holiday are the leftovers the next day. I made 2 turkeys and a turkey breast yesterday just for that reason. I expect the kids to show up for supper today, too, even though they all were sent home with care packages.

I didn't do too badly yesterday. I skipped the stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy, just because I don't care for them. But I had a small helping of everything else, including a slice of pumpkin pie and a small piece of pumpkin struesel cake. And I enjoyed it and am not going to stress about it. I'm right back on plan today, and that's what matters the most.
So now to decide what to do today. I don't have any plans whatsoever, and now I'm feeling antsy!

Good Morning Everyone

Thanks LC

So yesterday I fully planned on doing traitional and right back on the beach this mornng. I didn't overeat but I did eat MANY off plan foods. I felt almost ill last night. I guess it was too rich or more carbs than I can handle now. I was planning on doing the exact same thing on Xmas and have completely changed my mind. It was a fanastic day and I'm actually glad this happened. It makes temptations all the less tempting.

Happy a great day!

I ate a bit off plan but not too bad. I know I didn't eat enough sugar to set off any cravings again and that is the most important part.

Robert and I got a chance to talk to Michael and Maria about our situation but I'm not sure if that helped any since their marriage is worse off than ours ever was. He is planning on making changes which I don't think will make any difference in how I feel about wanting to stay with him but I guess I can wait and see.

Time to go hop in the shower. I don't have to work today so I slept in. It's too cold to want to go out and do anything I don't have to do.

Morning Chickies! Afraid I wasn't nearly as good as some of you girls in my eating but I will recover! Working for a bit today, going to put my nose to the grindstone and try to get out of here by noon. Ended my Wednesday with an ok to close that house I have been working on for 3 years! Makes working today so much better knowing I am going to be rid of the that nightmare on Monday!

Schatzi We have missed you so much!

LC Gosh girl I feel for ya, sure hope you kick this thing to the curb soon!

Cat I am with you on the no shopping today. My daughter is out braving it and I told her there is no way I would take on that challenge!

Cottage & Thin Hope you both have a great day!

Barb I hope wherever your heart takes you with this you are at peace with it. I have been in your shoes I know how incredibly hard it is especially durning the holidays and with kids.

Ok got to get to work so I can get out of here today. Have a great day all and willpower dust on avoiding the leftovers!

Morning chicks,
I didn't do so bad yesterday, but there's family around all weekend and more feasting to come, so I hope I can hold out. For breakfast, I had some sugar free pumpkin custard and turkey breast, yum leftovers!
I never go out t the stores on Black Friday, but DD desperately needs new bras and today is the only time we'll have to go out before she goes back, so I may have to venture into it. She wants to go to a mall near the DC beltway, because there is a Nordstroms there which carries some bras she really wants to try. As a D-cup girl, she needs good bras. I thought waiting until later would be a good idea, but maybe not? If we do go, I'm going to try to find a TruValue store and pick up some cordless LED lights for the windows. They're advertising a really good price on them, and I've got lots of windows to fill!
Other than that, I need to work, and want to go grocery shopping, plus I really want to get in a good walk, but boy has it gotten cold here today. Yesterday morning I didn't even need a jacket!
Have a good Friday chicks!

Back for a quickie, the kids finally let me have the computer back. I am feeling loopy this morning as I took cough meds last night, I don't know why it makes me feel this way the next day. School day off today so it is crazy around here. Well must dash again. Enjoy your day ladies.....

I saw this recipe and thought it might be good for turkey leftovers...just sub turkey for chicken. Might give it a try today.

Later::: I tried it and it was wonderful. I added some fresh herbs (parsley and tarragon) and I also added some creole seasoning and a little pinch of cayenne pepper. It was really fast and easy. I posted my revised recipe in the phase 2 soup recipe section..it's waiting on approval.
Oh, and I did 2/3 chicken stock and 1/3 water instead of all water.

Hello Ladies,

Looks like we all did pretty well with our food yesterday for the most part. You know I took y'alls advice and eased into SBD because of the T-day so I am now counting today as day #1 of Phase 1. I am excited about getting started today 100%.

Barb - I notice you are in Richardson, TX. I am originally from Waco, TX. Now live in SC just south of Charlotte, NC. I am hoping the weather is good your way today for travel as my Daddy & Mom are traveling from my step-sister's house in Oklahoma going back to Waco today. Talked to my sister yesterday who lives in Waco area and she said y'all might be in for rain and snow. Hope it holds off till Daddy gets home. He is a very good driver, but I worry about him now that he is so much older.

LC - You seem perky today. Hope that means you are feeling a lot better and not just the meds making you loopy. Time to get rid of that stuff.

Thin - I wasn't able to eat all the sweets I had planned to eat because I found they were rich. I don't eat sweets much any more except SBD allowed even before I started SBD and what I did eat almost made me sick because it was soooo sweet. I have no plans at this time to eat any type of sweets at Christmas time. I guess that is why it was so easy to leave the pecan pie (usually my favorite) at my SIL for her son.

I don't do Black Friday shopping either. Did it once with DD when we lived in FL and it wasn't too bad, but have no desire to do it again. We have all our shopping done and wrapped. DH and I wanted to have DD and her families ready to send home with her and we will mail the rest Monday to those out of state.

No one but the 2 of us going to be here for Christmas this year so we are going to only put up our small tree on a table in the living room so we can see it. We even have our presents for each other bought and wrapped and ready to put under our little tree. Not even planning any off SBD food for Christmas. Hope I can stick to that one. I'll be into Phase 2 pretty good by then.

Better go be with kids. Everybody else have a really great day. Hope those who shop have fun and get really good bargains.

Patty

Well, guess what? We decided to venture out shopping after all, and we got some terrific bargains. We went to three different malls, and it wasn't too bad, though the longer we were there, the more crowded it got. I just googled what we bought, just to compare prices, and we really got some good deals. We just had a late lunch of cold turkey sandwiches, and are thinking about getting out the Christmas decorations. The trees will go up tomorrow. I always put them up Thanksgiving weekend since it's the only time I'll have between now and Christmas to do it all. It's funny - I can't wait to put them up, and by Christmas I can't wait to take them back down again. Dustin and his family are coming over later this evening for a late supper of leftovers.

Yeah

Have a great weekend gals
