Default NOW WHAT?! -- Freaking a little about Phase II

Okay, tomorrow is my last day of Phase I (woo hoo?), and while I'm excited about adding more into my diet, I have actually enjoyed the last two weeks. I feel good. This is my problem. I have NO idea what to do now! I'm trying to plan my grocery shopping for tomorrow morning, and having a tough time.

I know you're supposed to add one thing in per week. I want to add whole wheat pitas in so that Monday I can have a pita pizza, and Tuesday I can have chicken caesar pita. However, what do I do the rest of the days? I don't want to eat a pita EVERY DAY!!! So can I just add in a serving of whole grains each day? Maybe have a slice of toast (whole grain, of course) with breakfast a couple of days?

I don't understand the meal plans in the book. If you're supposed to add one thing in a week, why are the phase 2 meal plans so heavy? Day one has like, 3-4 servings of fruit, and oatmeal!

Can anyone clear this up for me? I'm really confused and want to do this right!

I really can't clear this up for you, but I can tell you what I'm planning on doing... I've put some thought into this as well.. For phase 2 I am going to start SLOWLY! 1 thing per day was what I was thinking, since I miss fruit the most, I'm going to add it in for ONE meal per day for the first week, see how that goes. Second thing will be popcorn, cuz I want something to snack on.I haven't gotten further than that yet tho... Goodluck!

I'm not a Mod (not even close!)...but I might be able to help.

Here's a link to a thread from another board I'm on that talks about starting P2. If the link gets removed, let me know and I can PM it to you.

Please check out Phase II Handbook in our FAQ. The thing you add does not have to be the same every day - a pita one day and toast the next would be just fine!

RA, I think that the reason why the P2 meals have so many additions is that he's trying to show what it might look like once you realize what your Phase 2 Combo is. I agree, it's frustrating and confusing. If you change the item you eat each day, what you'll find is that you won't know exactly what's causing the problem if you stall or gain. If you stick with a pita each day, you'll know for sure whether or not it's a problem for you. If that's boring (I understand!) do as Schatzi suggested and try a different kind of bread. You'll be really confused if you do pita one day, apple the next, and pasta the next.

Good luck...you CAN do this!!!
