Happy Saturday!

Had so much fun this morning! Hubby took today off; he's been sooo busy at work and working Sat. mornings to get caught up but decided to take this whole weekend off. So we got in our ride this morning. It had rained all night and the river trail was wet and muddy. Then about half-way into the ride, it started to rain. But it wasn't a heavy rain, just enough to make it fun. We had hats and jackets and were prepared. Don't know if I'm having fun because hubby is home today or if it was fun to get wet and muddy.

Updated my biking challenge info below. I'd like to get 500 total miles by the end of summer (April-August or so). And would like to get 500 outdoor miles for the year. This way I can track the two separate goals. We got in 13.5 miles today and 13.0 last week so we're off to a decent start for April.

Hey Clareh, looking forward to hearing about your weight workout!

Cate, glad you are taking control of your resistance knob! I sometimes get the wanna-puke sensation, but what happens to me when I overdo cardio is that it somehow affects my immune system and makes me especially susceptible to whatever bug is going around. I have had to gradually increase my cardio time and intensity over the past six-seven months. I tried to do too much at the end of Jan. and had three separate viruses in a row; was sick almost the entire month of February. Was not fun and I learned my lesson. So don't be too hard on your body and push it too much, it may fight back.

Mel, congrats on keeping up with the workouts while your relatives visit. And on losing a pound! Sorry your wheelchairs are in the shop and hope they come home soon. Like you say, it's a good thing you have spares.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. Because we rode today, tomorrow will be my "planned rest" day. I put quotes because I think it will be an active day.

Happy Monday !?!?!

Yay Mel, for keeping up with the exercise despite guests! Whenever my routine gets disrupted, exercise is usually the first to go. I'm proud that you kept pedaling!

Off to a good start with exercise ... did 45 minutes for quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. Then walked around the big block in the neighborhood. Drove around it the other day and figure it's about 1 mile. My walk this morning took about 17 minutes and I hope to get faster. Have to make up for some of the junk I ate over the weekend!

Even better, got veggies in the ground and herbs in containers over the weekend. I can't wait to pick and eat fresh stuff! Yum!

Good morning!

I have been bad... the only exercise I've taken over the Easter weekend has been one 6 mile walk... which wouldn't have been too bad except the rest was eating and drinking with my family.

Today is a detox day! And doing my first weights workout tomorrow morning.

Good morning, or afternoon for most of you ...

I am sort of detoxing too. Mel, I think I was attacked by the same truffles, but on Saturday afternoon! And y'all don't want to know what I ate Sunday evening, after Easter dinner (kraft macaroni & cheese ... eewww). But yesterday was a really good food day. Just for fun, I input everything into FitDay and my breakfast, lunch, and dinner came to only about 1,000 calories. No wonder I snack so much ...

Today I did 20 minutes of weights for upper back and biceps. Then did 40 minutes of cardio with 20 minutes each on the treadmill and elliptical. Hope to have another good food day, that seems to be the hardest part for me.

Keep moving!!

Sherry, Kraft macaroni and cheese? The neon orange stuff that almost glows in the dark? Oh man... did you fall and hit your head or something?

Truffles are nectar of the gawds... I adore them. They are my favorite candy on the entire planet and I think I'd make myself sick on them if someone gave me a box. Well of they were good ones.. someone gave me a box of yucky ones for Christmas. The thought was nice, but when I saw one of the very first ingredients was hydrogenated oil, I immediately stopped. I mean REAL truffles are made with butter cream and chocolate, for heavens sake!!!

Cate - hope hubby is doing well. Prayers for you both

Clare - do I have to chase you around with a wet whole wheat noodle? Get busy, unless you really don't want to lose weight or care 'bout being healthy? Of course you do.. and eating right and exercise is the only way!

Mel, Mel, give 'em **** keep those pedals smokin'

Exercise is going fine. still shooting for the silver medal on the challenge. I haven't missed a scheduled exercise day since before Christmas so that makes me pleased. It gets me going in the morning but the best part is I don't have to do it when I get home. It's already DONE!! My shoulders seem to be growing at an alarming rate.. they already were big but my poor back is turning into the Governator's Oh well.

Wink Truffle Attack?

Alright now, I have heard it all. How does a truffle hold you down and force itself in your mouth? Now, if you want something realistic, believe me when I tell you that I was attacked by a whole box of Peeps that did the same thing to me.

Well, yesterday was Body Combat, and yes Mel it is helpful to envision an ex in front of you when you are throwing your punches!

Today I did 45 minutes on the treadmill. I was aiming for an hour when my bladder decided it was time to quit. This is the first time that I took my own music (Petshop Boys) into the club to listen to, and it helped so much to keep me moving.

Tomorrow is Body Pump, mostly squats and upper body. See you all tomorrow and keep up the detox and the exercise.

~Cate

No exercise to report today- it's my planned rest day this week with my first relaxation day for the whole month (no work, socialising or major housework)

I will be at the gymn tomorrow morning and will also probably slip in an elliptical workout to crank things up a bit tomorrow. The thought of being chased with a wet whole weat noodle is v scary!!

Anyway, 4 weeks on Saturday til the marathon walking so things are really going to move up a notch.... (The whole point is to do it in decorated bras so we have decided to be cavewomen in fur covered bras.... if that's not motivation to eat well and exercise I don't know what is!!)

Cate - I have used the potential pics as a sponsorship tool. If people pay me a nominal sum I will show them the pic. If they're really generous I'll promise not to!! So the photos may not be in the public domain for long (I hope!!)

I've been water walking for the last week, then hitting the sauna, to try and clear out this cold. I think it's working

So here was my Easter basket this year. DH put all the ingredients for a Sonoma friendly recipe that I saw last week into a basket, and then that's what we had for dinner. It was a lighter version of a Shrimp Scampi. He did buy me a box of dark chocolate truffles, I think I'm probably only allowed to eat about a quarter of for my chocolate allotment, but I'm not going to have to worry about it, he's been eating them.
