Question Question about the Sonoma Power Foods

Just wondering how other Sonoma dieters make sure to work the Power Foods into their diet? I understand that if you follow the meal plans in the book, it will happen automatically, but what about those like me who make up their own meal plans? I don't think this is very clear in the book - I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to be eating all of these foods every day, every week, every month or what.

There are 12 power foods that you center your meals around.
I would think that you incorporate as many as you can daily.

My trick is very simple: use the meal plans as a guide. So if day one for breakfast you are suposed to eat 2 eggs and slice of toast and 1/2 a cup of blueberries but instead you want a bowl of cerea with milk, i would eat the blueberries anyways.

I think its quite clear in the book what your plates are suposed to look like, then its up to you to use some of the power food as the vegetable part of your plate. Most of the powerfood ar eeasy to eat as snacks as well.

I try to eat 1 powerful every morning, have one of the powerful veggie for lunch and then have another one for dinner. So around 3-4 a day.

After Zofia's suggestion to use the meal plans as a guide, I spent some time last night looking at the Wave 2 plans to see how many Power Foods she includes in those. I counted all of the Power Foods present, even if the amount was very small (e.g. lemon juice in salad dressings). I did not count the glass of wine because it is optional. I found that the breakfasts tend to have 1 Power Food (a few of the non-grain options have none). The snacks also have either 0 or 1; the lunches average 3 (minimum 1); and the dinners average 4 (minimum 3). I guess that's what I'll aim for.

Don't worry so much about the book! Just get the cookbook! It's so much less complicated than trying to plan out each individual meal every day, and figuring out how much food you need of this and that, YUCK!

Who has time to overcomplicate eating? I think you can buy the cookbook for like $ 1.00 used online, and I'd say it was the best investment I've EVER made. Aside from $90 Nike shoes

I find following the recipes sometime is way more complicated since they have lots of ingredients and spices etc that I dont ahve at home at all time. What Pilgrim is doing is perfect because she can look at her pantry and decided what to eat without a trip to the grocery store.

We are all different and have all different lifestyle.

pilgrim: that sounds about right tbh. let us know how you do
