Default active dieters here?

Yes - there are a bunch of us who post here regularly. Not a huge group but enough to keep each other going and give support, help and to compare notes.

I'm Jax, and have been doing the Sonoma diet since the end of August with a little Labour Day hiccup! I like Mediterranean-style eating so it's a good fit for me.

Check out some of the threads below... and feel free to post whenever you can.

I've been doing it since late August as well. I really like this plan. Hope to see you posting more too.

I've been doing it since late Aug as well -- LOVE the Sonoma approach to healthy eating! It's a good fit for me too. The simple portion control methods (use smaller plates and no seconds) is brilliant. When I think of all the umpteen times I went on WW and especially in the old days, I bought a WW food scale and weighed everything I ate, this diet feels so much more "normal." None of my friends or family have diet/weight issues so it's nice I can eat/cook regular food.

So far everybody loves the Sonoma recipes!

Another Sonoma dieter here. I've been doing this since mid/late Aug. I'm also liking the no weighing thing but it has been an adjustment since I had gotten so accustomed to that from previous dieting attempts. Also the food is very tasty. I like the all "real" food approach.

I did the Sonoma a while ago, and am getting started again. Wish me luck!

Default My sister and I just started!

My sister and I just started the Sonoma Diet and we're on day three. It's going pretty good, the only problem is that I work at Starbucks and now everything I thought was mildly gross now looks de-licious! The recipes are good so far, but I think we might start improvising some of the meals rather than doing the actual recipes.

ckatgo: I have been lurking and noticed that no one has posted here for a while.

If you are going to use the Sonoma Diet we could post together for help and motivation. I have my book and a few supplies so I can possibly start tomorrow.

Let me know.

I love the idea of that. Yes, Lets do this change our life thing and support each other. Maybe we could get the board going good again. I mean this is an incrediably healthy plan, portion control, sensible. I started to do the volumentrics plan, which is also good, but I need more control than what the plan offers. I love the gourmet style food and wine on this. I cook alot so this is a great plan. I also have the med. plan book and have read that, but I need a few more rules than it offers.

My only problem is is that I don't have the book yet. I am going tonight to get it for sure and will start reading it when I get home. I some stuff here, but there is fixing to be a big ice storm where we live and I had to stock up on not a lot of fresh stuff in case the power goes out. (one ice storm we had the power was out for a week!) But, canned veggies here I come. LOL..

I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully we can spring some life back in this board and drop some pound in the process!

Kat

Hi Gina and Kat,

I'm doing the Sonoma plan. I felt really energetic last time I was on it, so I was exercising regularly. It all helped.

Dave and i are starting it again. I'm going directly to Wave 2 though. I love the food and it smells wonderful!

The diet book and the cookbook both have some really good recipes. I haven't checked out the recipes in this forum. Quick ones (besides wraps) would be great.

I look forward to getting to know you, trading progress, recipes and ups and downs!

Mary

I got a bit off track with a new job and losing a dog but am trying to get back on the wagon. Did some serious grocery shopping and meal planning today. I'm planning to stay on Wave 2 until after the holidays, then I will decide whether or not I need to start from Wave 1 again or not.

I'm not doing Sonoma but I eat quite mediterranean and would love to follow along w you all. I'm doing my own thing but I think it's kind of close to intuitive eating.

I'm not into structured diets but a lot of the Sonoma principles sound good to me, and I like to learn. I'm not a cook but I'm trying to learn.

I am sorry to hear about your dog, petra..the loss of a pet is always a tough loss. I went looking for the book, but now a big ice storm is fixing to hit here and I am having to stop my search and get the house ready. I think I have learned enough off the web to start. I found a website with a food list and an explaination of the waves so think I will be ok until the ice storm passes. The holidays being here does not help! (I am baking today...gingerbread ornaments....YIKES!) I figure as long as I don't gain during the holidays I will be ok. I hope....LOL

edit to add: I hope to post more often than I have in the past couple days...hope to talk to everyone later!
