Default GREAT Dr's Appt - Weight & BP Both Down!

Yay! I've been monitoring my blood pressure with my Dr. every 3 months -- according to his brutally honest scale (my scale is wonky!) I'm down another 2 lbs which makes 11 pounds since my last appt ....he is impressed! I was telling him about Sonoma and he never heard of it but said it sounded like a great common sense program and to stick with it.

I have to go fix my ticker!

I've decided to celebrate to the point of breaking my arm patting myself on the back for every success - WHY NOT? I know I have a long journey ahead, but might as well have fun on the way!

That's great news! Congrats to you.

It's nice when the Dr. affirms what you are doing is the right thing. I bet you were on cloud nine. 11 lbs is very good. I can't wait to reach that myself.

Way to go Kate! Give yourself a great big pat on the back. And one from me too.

Thanks gals! Can I tell the the difference between my last appt. was like night and day. After the last one I felt like playing in traffic and this one, I feel like celebrating. It just goes to show you that you don't have to be at the point of having achieved your perfect weight for a lot of positive things to kick in.

Great job Kate. Keep up the good work. I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure too for the first time. That is part of why I chose this plan to get me back on track.

The BP thing was a huge wake-up call for me. I always thought of my extra pounds as a vanity issue -- but when 20 off-and-on again pounds turned to 40+ and my blood pressure shot up I was like, HOLY CRAP! I'm now a "statistic" on the news....part of the "obesity epidemic" complete with "obesity related health problems!" THAT SUCKS!!

Well the good news is, the situation is reversible, every day we have a chance to turn it back a little more. So we need to embrace the opportunity, rather than feel like "poor deprived me on a diet," which, surrounded by non-dieters I can sometimes get that way.....
