    A 5-foot, 5-inch tall white woman who weighs more than 240 pounds is 86 percent more likely to die within seven years than her normal-weight peer, according to a new study.

  • I don't want to depress you, but when my 5'2" mom was due for open heart surgery, the doctor told us that a short woman is the worst candidate....She didn't make it......
  • Angela, I'm sure you're fine; no way can you be classified as obese.

    It's a wakeup call, that's for sure. My mom is my height but is probably 15-20 pounds overweight. She's also diabetic, but she still doesn't watch what she eats. You'd think when the doctor says you MUST lose weight, that would be enough to motivate people. I think they know what they're talking about.
  • Sometimes it's just too scarey and overwhelming. It can kind of make you just want to throw in the towel.
  • I come from bad genes. The only thing that I can try to do is live "healthier" than my parents did.
