Hey Chicks! I just got home. Catherines was a bust except for the full slip that I need for the christening. Harumpf! We had lunch with my Sister and BIL and went for our food Doctor appointment. All is well there. It's been cloudy and not that hot today so no pool. Bummer.

Niki, a whole box it is then! I can't wait to make it. I'm craving a spicy cake type thingy. I think I'm having an oatmeal pancake for dinner tonight. I've got a sweet thing going.

Sandra, good luck with your colonoscopy. I had mine in February when I was having all that mystery discomfort. I'm glad it's over. Actually, you are going (no pun intended!) through the worst of it now. The drugs are great and I knew nothing of what was happening during the test. I guess you can be awake if you want. I told my Doctor...I want to see nothing, hear nothing, feel nothing. He said okey dokey and was true to his word. You and I would have alot of fun shopping together, except today I was a tad grumpy. Nothing out now is my taste. Too much cotton and hippy beads! I do NOT iron. I'm a child of the polyester 70's. I hope Curtis went out and had some fun. Lucky girl that you got to go into your hot tub. I can't wait to get into my darn pool.

Wendy, thanks for the advice! I wasn't going to get my hair wet. I didn't know for sure but I thought it wouldn't be a good idea with my fresh highlights. And, yes, they are plenty blonde! I have some stuff my stylist recommended. I think it's from Redken....milk something. I know I wet my hair and then spray this stuff in before swimming. I did great with it last summer so I'll be using it again. It has sunscreen and stuff in it too. Several of us here are stress eaters, so we definitely understand what happened to you. Congratulations on not eating as much as before. Bigger congratulations for not letting yourself use that one slip as excuse to go entirely off program. Those are both big accomplishments! Hey Wendy, did you do a profile?

Oh, Tye, Welcome to our little corner of the world! You are going to LOVE it here. You look young. You are so smart to get the weight off now! I can't wait to read your profile.

Frouf, I just had a feeling that Toronto GF was going to back out. Probably for the best for you and your new friend to go have fun. I'm glad you're not going to the gym. You don't want to really injure yourself badly so that you cannot go at all for a long time. Nothing wrong with just going home and relaxing one night.

Well, I'm getting hungry so it's time to go make some pancakes. Yum!

Tee Hee! I guess I was hungry. I meant foot doctor!

I ate my pancake and I'm still hungry. I believe this is a popcorn night. Time for my jammies. I'll be back tomorrow. Pella is coming to repair our screen door in the morning. Sheesh.

Melissa/Kathy....you ok?

Oh, the life of a non-ironer!! You folks don't remember what you're missing out on! Maybe it's because I sew and have to iron the fabric, but I suppose ironing doesn't bother me. If something comes out of the dryer and doesn't look just right, it gets ironed.

So ... I'm home and wiped out. I got here about 30 minutes ago -- whew, what a day! Our VAX (engineering computer system) kept going down today. Back and forth, back and forth. It was brutal. I made my 9 hours of work on 6 hours sleep, which is nothing short of miraculous. And after work, I went to the post office to ship some ebay stuff, to the grocery store for a few things for dinner, came home and hurriedly cooked dinner while Judd watched TV, no less. He didn't work today and I did ... yet here I'm slaving over the stove? I wanted to smack him. I made a very good WW Flex recipe (but don't have the points so don't ask) that was Chicken Spaghetti. I used regular spaghetti, LO grilled chicken that was diced up, 98%FF cream of mushroom soup, Ro-Tel tomatoes, 3 oz. lite Velveeta and chopped onion. It is really good but I didn't have any (just tasted). I don't know what's wrong with me, but I just can't eat much anymore.

Tonight is a "do or die" Mavs game so I'll be glued to the TV from 8:00 + ... I might check in but can't promise. This is ridiculous though; missed calls and an unwanted timeout lost us the last game by ONE freakin' point. It also got our owner fined $250K today because he's a young'un with quite a temper. I like it though; this fiesty guy has turned the team around in the six years he's owned it. Okay, enough about basketball. Like anyone else cares.

Sandra, good luck tomorrow. I hate those things but there's no other way to see our innards, I suppose. Check back in whenever you can.

Don't forget -- tomorrow is a new day for those who are struggling, me included. I was well below my limits today but need to figure out what's making me either nauseated or giving heartburn and bloating feeling.

Hi ladies! I am struggling again...it seems like when the weekend rolls around, I lose all control. I know I'm a child of routines, so during our routine-less weekends, I'm at a loss. I need to figure something out.

I am wondering if I have something like swimmer's ear. Every time I go to the pool or the water park like yesterday, my ears are plugged and painful for days afterwards. Very irritating.

We woke up this morning to clouds looking like the pictures below...

It was really disquieting...I think it was the bottom of a super cell thunderstorm that was off to the North a bit. Thankfully, we only got the fringe rain, but wow, what a sight!

I'm going to toss my kids in bed soon, and hopefully relax tonight. I may even run to the library for some books. It's been a while since I've had a nice, quiet evening to read.

Later ladies!
Angela

Angela, the swirl in the clouds reminds me of a black-and-white Van Gogh painting! So pretty!

Here I am!! Sorry I've not been posting that much. Work has been killer and then everything with the house...well you all know how it is. But I am sorry for not being around. I really appreciate the friendship and support that you all provide and miss it when I'm not "chatting."

Kathy, your dinner (although you didn't eat it) sounds awesome. I love those kind of meals, they're some of my favorites. Especially when they have a mexican flavor. I'm sorry that you are having tummy troubles. I hope that you figure it out soon. Do you think it's related to medication or something like that??

Vickie, I'm sorry that your shopping trip didn't produce much luck today. But at least you found something! Thanks for checking on me. I'm still alive!

Angela, those clouds look scary! But great pictures.

Sandra, good luck with your colonoscopy tomorrow. I can't imagine how much fun that will be.

Frouf, I'm glad that your traveling plans are coming together. And yes, I'm taking my vitamins!

Sorry to cut this short but DH just came home and I want to visit. Have a great night everyone!

Hey Vickie - I want my own food doctor too - do they do the planning and cooking? ha ha ha. (yes it took me a few minutes to realize it was the foot doctor - how disappointing was that!).

I now seem to remember some Schwarzkopf stuff (yellow spray bottle) I used in the sun to save my hair? Wonder if I still have it around - would be a good idea to take it on the cruise! (altho my hair does have a mind of it's own in humidity - I generally just let it go crazy during the day, wash and blow dry it in the evening and DARE NOT step outside or it will just go BERSERK!)

Melissa - glad to see you are alive and well and very busy AND taking those vitamins - good for you.

Saundra - hope you were not run ragged at your WW job today!

Angela - those clouds are pretty freaky, yet pretty too. Did you get any good books at the library?

Kathy - I too try not to purchase anything that needs ironing (or even too many things that need dry cleaning for that matter)....and even so I will dry it on the perm press cycle and remove it and hang it immediately - anything NOT to iron.

Dh is very good at it and will iron things for me (mentioned this to Andrea my cruise buddy - seems she is also a good 'ironer' - hmmm - wonder if I can convince her to do some of my ironing?).

Did not go to the gym - I am still in pain - and wondering how I will sleep tonight? I will take a Robaxicet (acetominophen and muscle relaxant) soon before bed and hope for the best!

Yes I had the mahi mahi - it was a boxed store brand - it was good but frankly I found it too salty (and given my high bp I am also supposed to stay away from excess salt!). The couscous was great (made w/chicken broth and sauteed onions and green peppers) and green beans too. I had 'normal/small' portions - but frankly was still feeling a bit peckish and hungry...waited about an hour - then had some rye toast with a slather of peanut butter and that hit the spot. I brushed my teeth right away after that and started chewing some spearmint gum cuz I was afraid the 'snack' would set off a series of eating adventures which I was hoping to avoid.

I am feeling a bit empty now which is good (meaning I did not overeat!).

Tomorrow's challenge - supposed to go out to mexican place for lunch w/office group (altho I do have an 11:30 mtg so may be late?) - I have had salads there before but frankly there are overpriced for the size you get - might try some sort of chicken dish instead? they do have good daily specials so I'll check those out too!

Sure hope my neck is feeling better cuz probably after the lunch I will definitely need to go exercise after work.

Frouf

Morning chicks! I can't believe the server was down and we couldn't get here this morning.

Kathy, sorry to hear that your boys lost last night.

Frouf, congrats on not overeating. I've already done some myself today. And it's only 11:40!! Good luck with the mexican food. Maybe you could try some black bean soup or fajitas without the tortilla?

I just wanted to check in. I hope everyone is doing well today. I've got to stop eating!!

i leave in about 15 min for the big "c". so far it's been easy. i am thirsty but not hungry, but that will be remedied soon. the sun is shining; my roses are blooming; we have 2 hummingbirds. life is good.

melissa, it's great to see you here. i totally understand about being too busy to be online much. it takes a long time to keep up here, doesn't it?

thanks, saundra. i appreciate your coming here to give me support. i hope you got some rest last night.

frouf, congratulations on making choices that will help you get to your goal. (now did i word that politically correct?) seriously, i am proud of you. it sounds like you're ready to move the scales down. ain't it great? good success for you at the mexican restaurant. a tip: (if you get there on time.) be the first to order then the "lucy" syndrome won't kick in. i run into that syndrome a lot when i order after others. what they're getting just sounds too good to pass up. good success to you!

melissa, i didn't know the server was down this am. i was in la la land. okay, gf, stop eating. remember i'm going to be a cyber aunt.

i think i'm going to go outside now and pick some roses for my pcp's nurse. i just love her. what with going to their office for both curtis and my appts, we've bonded.

have a great day. i'll be back later.

Sandra, what a sweetheart you are for taking roses to the nurse! I hope everything went well (speaking in past tense since you're probably having it right now!)

Melissa, STEP AWAY FROM THE FOOD and repeat after me: I am not hungry. I am probably just thirsty. I believe I will have some more water!

Poor Mavs! But hey, all's fair in love, war, and sports. Missed and bad calls were on both sides, so they can't really blame anyone but themselves for last night. We're very proud of them, though, for taking it that far. I can't WAIT for next year! And now to concentrate on my Rangers ...

I was a bit sidetracked this morning when the car turned (on its own) into McDonald's and ordered breakfast for me. Ahem ... well, all I can do is try harder tomorrow morning. I think I'll revise my route where I don't have to drive past any fast-food restaurants. Oh and I think Judd and I will be riding together anyway because we'll be going over to Fort Worth for meat night immediately after work. Oh boy, meat night.

Speaking of berserk hair, I did the "scrunch 'n go" method this morning and you won't believe how many people have just fallen in the floor over my hair! I thought someone was going to start snapping pictures!! It must look really, really good or lately I've been looking really, really bad! Anyway, it's great "vacation hair" because no products or appliances are needed. I'll have to keep it in mind. Oh and Judd asked if I had gotten a perm. Yeah, I gave myself a perm between midnight when I went to bed and 6:00 when I got up -- you just didn't smell it. Dork.

Time to work some more; they're killing me, I tell ya.

Kathy, glad to hear you are having a good hair day. I think it always makes my day go better when I feel like I look good. It can't hurt anyway!

Sandra, hope you're doing well and on your way to CB for some grub. You're so sweet for taking flowers to your nurse.

Back to work...
