Have a great time, Patti! That sounds like fun -- both the bazaar and the dinner. Enjoy some for me too!

I couldn't sleep so I just figured why not get up? At least it's Saturday so I can sit around if I need to. When this happens during the week, I'm not so happy about it.

The girls and I have decided to have a "meeting" today to see if there's something we can do to help Shaun out with his bills. I don't know for sure, but I think one of them might be willing to take out some sort of short-term loan if he will agree to turn over his paychecks for the first month. After he gets a job, that is. Kate, the younger one who's a service manager at a grocery store, has arranged for him to possibly get hired at another of the stores. We'll see how that goes. It would be for a night stocker which means he might be able to work another job as well, like another part-time job delivering pizza or something. We're keeping our fingers crossed. The only other alternative is for his car to get repo'd and one of us would have to take and pick him up from work each day. It would be hard to get ahead that way. He also said he's going to church tomorrow.

We decided to go ahead and do the Christmas decorating this weekend, both inside and out. Fortunately, we had already decided not to put lights on the house, but just line the flowerbeds with something like this:

I also got two 4 foot prelit trees to put on the porch on either side of the front door. They are in a white wooden base and are really cute. Hold on ... okay, here they are:

I'm ready to get some decorating done, in spite of my vow last year that we were never doing it again. I guess it's like childbirth ... when it comes around again, you've forgotten how bad it was last time.

So everybody have a good weekend and stay warm! I'm sure I'll have no problem with that; it's going to be 68 and sunny here today.

Wow am I ever behind! I'm going to go read and catch up.

Big drama with my medicine. Took one of the Enablex and had some significant reaction and also read that it shouldn't be taken if you have glaucoma. I don't but I have a precursor condition and take eyedrops in each eye every day just to keep the pressure at 22. So I'm not taking them anymore until I talk to my Eye Specialist and to my Urologist about the other side effect. So for now, I'm just taking the antibiotic and waiting to go see the Gynie on Tuesday. I've had about enough of this. I had a big crying jag with Jim last night. Neither he nor the dog knew what to do with me! The dog just kept licking the tears off of my face. I know that it's just that she likes salt but I prefer to believe that she doesn't want her Mommy to cry! So Jim ordered a pay per view movie which we watched and it took my mind off of things for a while. I'm a firm believer in tears being theraputic. We saw the Wedding Date which was a light romantic comedy. Just right.

So enough of my drama for now. I'm gonna go read and see what's up with all of you.

Kathy, sorry you didn't sleep well but it sounds like you got a lot of planning and decision making done in the wee hours! How did Judd's appointment go? I laughed out load at the cat pee/sneaker story. I'm SURE Judd didn't think it was as funny as I did. And, poor Zuki. I'm sorry he has to have more surgery but it sure does sound necessary. I think you guys sound like you have such a great family unit. It's pretty darn impressive that Shaun's sisters are willing to help him out too. You mentioned he's going back to church. Maybe that will give him the direction he needs so badly. You're a great Mom.

Judy, I like your outlook on this whole weight loss challenge that is facing us all. Thanks for the support and well wishes on my medical situation.

Melissa, you've been suspiciously quiet. You ok?

Patti, thanks so much for the good thoughts. Enjoy the bazaar and the fondue. I'll just be hanging out in my pj's today.

Angela, you as a healer makes perfect sense to me! I'd love to see the faces of those teenaged boys when they find out they're playing with a 30 year old! How's your maintenance going? Please tell me it's not as hard as losing! Are you and the girls well? Jim and I had our flu shots on Thursday morning. I had chills and a slight fever last night but feel fine this morning.

Kim, your haircut sounds adorable. More importantly, though, it's making you feel good about yourself. I find that good self image feelings are critical for me especially during my weight loss journey. I wish you could figure out what is triggering your binges. Have you ever considered a journal. I'm guessing that something is going on in your mind or with your emotions right before these episodes. I think our minds are SO interesting.

Frouf, rejoin!!!! When does DH start his job and how is he feeling? I'm SO happy for him but mostly for you. I hope it increases his self-esteem and that more jobs come out of this for him. We have had snow here too. It seems we went from a warm autumn directly into cold winter. I went from a light jacket without the lining directly into my winter coat. I'm also very happy that despite all her trials and tribulation, Emily is bring home good grades. That probably makes it all the more frustrating for you and DH. She's obviously a smart girl. I'm hoping that by now your headache is gone and you are off to the salon being transformed into a lovely Froufie once again. You made it sound yesterday as if you weren't very happy with your appearance.

Sandra, GF, I hardly know what to say. Yes I do....I am THRILLED that you are back at meetings. I think you might be like me and need them. Not everyone does. I need contact with an official scale and with the Leader and with the members. In my fantasy world, I'd go to a meeting with all of you. What a hoot that would be. But, instead I go to the meeting with those folks and content myself with getting much needed advice and support from all of you here during the week. I look forward to your success!

I thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving meeting. There was a thanksgiving table set and everyone was directed to go fill their plates with servings of food that were on sheets of paper. We actually had plates! Then when we had filled our plates we went through and wrote down points for everything we took. Then the Leader asked how many people went over their points for the day. It was a great exercise. My plate was all Core except for the stuffing. My points for everything totaled 16. Even for Flex that wouldn't have been bad for me because I think I'd get 30 points a day on Flex at my weight. Someone had 42 points! LOL!

Well, no call back from the Eye Specialist yet. I think I'll go get showered and dressed. I'm thinking about making traditional ground sirloin chili today with a new Core Cornbread recipe that my Niece sent to me. Jim is going to go to the boat to get a free turkey coupon. I think I'll stay here and get organized.

I hope you all have a great day. I'm sure I'll be checking in a lot this weekend. I'll try not to be such a downer!

Kathy, we'll be decorating here too. I'm not replacing my lighted reindeer because some neighborhood teens trashed them last year. They've also busted the glass on my lamp post. So I'm not sure how much we'll put out this year. We always use net lights though on our bushes. They look beautiful and take hardly any effort. They come in white and multi. I'm not sure if you have any bushes. The snowmen are adorable. I haven't seen any of those here. I'm liking the new snowmen, santas, reindeer that are glittery and lighted over grapevines. If I buy any of those, I'll put them in the backyard where I can see them but the juevenile delinquents can't get to them!

I haven't seen the snowmen either -- those were from ebay. We thought maybe we could go look at Hobby Lobby or somewhere like that. We also have net lights but I think they need to be replaced, so we probably won't. Perhaps some big red bows on the trees out front, the flowerbed outlines, the trees by the front door, and all the inside stuff. It tires me out to think of it.

Wow, you gals are so busy. I'm reading everything but find it overwhelming to respond. Just know that if you're ill, I'm hoping for healing for you. If you're sad, I'm sending :. If you're hungry--well, I am too sometimes. let's all keep on keepin' on by keeping the strong vision of how we want to look and feel in front of us and making that more important than the food of the moment. Everybody have a great weekend and get through the food challenges.

Hi ladies! I just love coming here and keeping up with you all. We are busy gearing up for a nice Thanksgiving week at home. Kids are home from school, dh has the week off, it'll be nice I hope.

It was freezing cold here, but now it's warmed up a bit. My poor little 4 year old - I told her it was getting warmer, and she, very distressed, said, "But we haven't had Christmas yet!" She thought winter was over and we had missed Christmas. Oh no, sweetie, we have MONTHS of winter left ahead of us.

As far as maintenance, I really think it's a slippery slope. You have a little more latitude, but it's also easier to take it too far. When we all got sick, my mom and I stopped walking, so I can feel my legs and butt getting not quite as firm. So we walked today, and will walk all week, I promise.

Dh is going to have a big computer game party today, so I'm gearing up for that now.

As far as Christmas decorating, there's no way I could start that now. Things don't last very long in my house.

I'm off to do the dishes,
Angela

Default I'm gonna Try!!

Hi!! just posted under my original post, but wanted to stop here and say, if you don't mind, that I'd like to join you all....I am going to give Core (I am very Pro WW) a try A little nervous....been counting Points for so long....afraid I miss out on something like some of the 'not so good' choices we can and do make on Flex. But I am beginning to believe Sugar begets Sugar!

Well tomorrow will be the first day of my Core...11/20 will try (shouldn't say TRY should just do it) and give it the month it needs. In time for Christmas
(perhaps a weight loss present from me to me)
I feel my journey will be a long one. (months)...I know what we want to lose is all relative. I have 27 lbs to lose to get to my official WW goal. My personal goal is another story, but then again, isn't it always That just seems unattainable right now, so I can't allow my thoughts to go there.

Well just wanted to 'pop' in!!

we're taking it easy today. curtis is watching a movie. i'm going to join him in a few minutes after i get caught up here. we shot league last night. i improved 11 pts over last week's score. life is good. i am feeling more like myself again. last week was rough. i am blaming fatigue for my low scores. (that's my story and i'm sticking to it.)

kathy, sounds like ya'll are coming up with a good plan for shaun. i hope he will cooperate. your decorations look good. you've giving me the spirit. we'll drive up into the mountains in a few days and cut a tree to decorate.

patti, i know you're having a good time today. makes me smile.

vickie, i'm a believer in tear therapy, too. i use it quite a lot. we saw "wedding date" on the bus going to spokane last saturday. it's cute, isn't it? we had paperplates at our ww meeting. i had a lot of core goodies on mine, too. in reality we're going to cracker barrel. i've already peeked at their thanksgiving menu. i plan to do well that day and will count my pts even though most of what i'm eating will be core.

angela, i'm proud of you for starting back walking. you're being careful to keep your weight maintained. that's impressive.

welcome to the group, wwe. it's good to have you.

Hello, Hello! You all must be busy with your Saturday. I'm back from going to the boat to collect our free turkey. I went with and we had lunch out (all Core) and then went grocery shopping for some sale items and things I needed for dinner. I'm making ground beef chili (no corn!) and a new Core Cornbread recipe. It calls for cornmeal, farina, unsweetened applesauce along with the other usual items. The creator said it is a moister cornbread than some of the other Core recipes. I'd like that and so would Jim.

It's 4:00 and I'm really hungry. I'm going to go start cutting up my veggies for the chili. I'm also going to make a tamale meatloaf so I'm cutting all the onion and red peppers today for the chili and the meatloaf at the same time.

I may need to snack before dinner. Maybe a cherry garcia smoothie first.

Sandra, Jim and I will be going to my Sister's house for Thanksgiving. I bought an 18 pound turkey today to cook just for me and Jim since we won't have leftover turkey from Thanksgiving. I use the bag and it's pretty cool, self-basting with a pop up timer. I have Jim carve it all up and then we eat some and vacuum seal freeze a couple of meals worth for the freezer. I hate to think of you and Curtis at a restaurant but I know you love Cracker Barrel. Congratulations on your archery improvement. Any chance that you Core eating is helping your archery?

Enthusiast, Welcome! We all all here every day struggling to get to our goals. We'd be happy for you to join us!

Angela, I hate to hear about the slippery slope but I'm not surprised! You are my hero. I can't wait until I get there. I'm missing my walking too. I hope to be back at it soon.

Ok Chicks! Talk to you later. I've got tummy rumbles which tells me I've gone way past hungry.

Vickie, I had no idea that I was being suspicious. I've just been incredibly busy this past week or two and very, very tired. Work has also been insanely busy so I've not really had time to post in the day. I've been reading but then have no time to post!! And definitely no time to respond to everyone. But I'm trying. The week after Thanksgiving I'm off work ( ) so I'll definitely be catching up then.

Vickie, It's so good to hear "you" in your voice! It sounds like you are dealing so well with things. I'm still praying and keeping that everything will work out quickly.

Kathy, I don't know if I could decorate for Christmas when it's 62 outside. I hope that you all had fun. I'm also thinking about and praying for Shaun.

Sandra, I need you to come to 180's with me, girl! I need help!

My eating has not been core BUT I have been very aware of my portion sizes and (I think) I've been eating much better than I have in a long time. So I'm planning on going back to a more fully core menu. But I probably won't be completely core for a little while. We are trying to change our eating habits. DH is really put up with his weight issues as well.
I'm so excited because I am going to ask MIL for some dance exercise DVDs for Christmas. I think I'm going to get the cardio salsa that Frouf recommended (I have always wanted to learn salsa) and also some ballet workouts. I think I told you all that I did ballet for about 7 years when I was a kid and I'm so excited about doing it again, even if it is just in the living room.
Well I need to go help DH clean up the kitchen from supper. I'll BBL!!!
(sorry for rambling )

vickie, you are so sweet. we'll also be spending time with family thanksgiving just not the meal. we'll get together for a visit. there's some hard feelings right now between curtis and some of his folks. a visit is the best we feel we can do right now. life goes on. i do think eating healthily helps with archery. i also think that some carbs are necessary so i need to use wpa's. i get weak if i don't.

melissa, "arriba! arriba!! " i can just see you doing salsa. "ole!!" girl, i'm getting to those 180's as fast as i can. right now my focus is clear. "ole!!"
