Hey cher - I'll trade send them over - and I'll send you a couple of teenagers ((19 ds and 13 dd) and you can "practice". Sorry about the school issues, boy do I know how upsetting that can be. Hope your dad decides to do the ww thing - I believe Core is pretty good for diabetics.

Vickie - boy that heel of yours looks painful - sure you don't have a heel spur or something? Hope you get to swim tomorrow - that would be awesome. Glad you had a fun and busy day.

In fact before I had a chance to invite myself over to sil's pool she called tonight (to apologize for missing dd's recital) and I found out our niece (her daughter is only 10 yrs younger than us) who has been having these weird blackouts and heart rate issues - is PREGNANT - this is good news - she is divorced w/a 10 yr old son - and now living w/new partner who is such a sweet guy. He moved here from Toronto, they bought a house and I think wedding bells were in the works. Anyhow, finds out she is pregnant, they do further tests re heart issues and find out she HAS A HOLE IN HER HEART!! Never diagnosed or seen before (she is 32 I think?) and is now on blood thinners, has to inject herself daily and has a barrage of specialists to see her thru the pregnancy! She of course doesn't want to take anything or jeopardize the baby in any way - yet she needs to like, stay alive.... I believe that once baby arrives (late december) she will be making plans for heart surgery! Can you believe this! What shocking news.

She is a tiny wisp of a thing - so pretty! Recently stopped smoking and credits the fact that she made it this far due to her love of red wine (good for the blood!). Of course she is no longer drinking. We are all keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. At least now we have now what the problem is and hopefully it can be treated - but may have to wait til after baby is born. ...and she won't be allowed to go into labour (she is not supposed to exercise or "bear down") so might be a ceasarean (altho they need to stop the blood thinners WAY before the surgery so she doesn't bleed to death!).

Anyhow - I'm sure we shall see her if we visit sil's pool this weekend but I will freak if she even moves or does anything besides breathe!

Angela - hope you had fun at the "zoo".

Sandra - Sounds like you are really enjoying your new hairdo - my appt is in 2 more weeks and I don't think I'll last that long! (want to wait til as close as possible to vacation trip). I know your new look will definitely help you perform better.

Welcome NHLinda - I also have a "better make it to college" or else child hanging around - and hoping he actually graduates from high school in the next couple of weeks!

I agree w/Vickie - you will notice that the less bread products you eat, the less you wil crave them..and you should be able to manage with your 35 pts if need be.

Terry - good luck with the home renovation 2 day project - make sure to get a pic of dh's face when he returns and sees what you have done!

Melissa - have a FABULOUS TIME - we will miss you and are sending good vibes your way to help you make excellent choices. Good luck and have fun!

So I made some eggplant pizzas for dinner - they were very yummy - found some sauce and cheese and did the cornmeal w/italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic and veggie seasoning...I think I used too much oil tho (roasted garlic flavored olive oil) - I forgot that eggplant does absorb a lot of oil when cooking. I had 3 "pizzas" (should have only eaten 2 I'm sure) and some leftover brown rice (and now realize I broke the rice/potatoes once a day rule! )...and packed some up for lunch tomorrow.

No I did not exercise - I am just not motivated and this is bad - I think about it - but just don't get around to it. I did okay w/my water today and hoping TOM is just about done and that there is some good news come saturday's weigh-in.

Good luck to all those weighing in tomorrow and congrats to Vickie and Angela for their continued success!

Now need to try to track down phone # to call dd - she is at a sleepover tonight (prior to going on a school grad trip to Montreal tomorrow - and yes the other parents are driving the girls to the school for 6 am!). She was SUPPOSED to leave the phone # here - but of course she did not.

She also had a therapist appt today - her dad took her -and he advised me of the debrief - seems she has a problem dealing w/her feelings - and cuts herself when happy or sad??? I can't figure that one out. (seems her right forearm has some cuts on it - but she covers it up pretty welll so you really have to look or ask to see it?). Told therapist she might deal better w/her feelings if she was able to see and talk to her friends more and stay on the phone more!

I went BALLISTIC when he told me this - I sure think she is maniputling this therapist and will call her tomorrow to discuss. This child lives to get on the computer and MSN her friends til the cows come home (or mom drags her off). Then has the phone glued to her ear the rest of the night - whereby I have to threaten and insist that by 10:30 pm all calls are over, and god forbid anyone else has to use the phone or is expecting a call. I can't imagine her needing MORE phone time (she has already absconded w/the cordless phone which now resides in her room). What is this dr thinking? I don't think she realizes how unreasonable her "suggestion" is - of course the ex was unaware of this behaviour and therefore could not provide the therapist with the real scenario.

So cher - when are we doing this trade? Let me know

Vickie, let me be the first to tell you what's wrong with your memory: You're getting old! Okay I can say that ... especially since you're a whole six months OLDER than me! Old woman!!

Have a great weekend, Melissa! I hope there's job news too -- wouldn't that be a wonderful welcome home?

Vickie, I do have sassy hair AND toes! I have French painted toes that I do myself. It's just too easy to pay for it now that I watched them do it for so long! Told you I was cheap! And thanks for asking about Zuki. Poor guy is still wearing his cone because I know the moment it comes off, he'll start biting at his new part and bleed. I need to be assured that it is totally healed.

I was so determined to be good today and only have fruit, vegetables and water in order to get rid of some of my gain. I had breakfast (banana and milk), lunch (salad and fruit) ... so far, so good ... and then on the way home said what the heck? I'll go to McDonald's. I had a Happy Meal but not the coke, and then at home I had a beer. Total points for the day was 21, which is surprising, but I had a ton of water. Maybe it'll make a difference. Tonight's weight was the same as this morning's weight (a good sign) and I also did the Gazelle for 36 minutes, which was 302 calories and 2.49 miles. If I do the same tomorrow ... okay maybe without that Happy Meal and beer ... I should be in decent shape for Saturday and then, of course, I will resolve to do better. As usual. Which never works out. But I'll still try.

What can you do but keep smiling?

well, you know that all kids are different, my last one at home has been pretty well behaved. She is 19. My son when he was a pre-teen-teenager, stuck his BB gun out the window and shot a window of a house behind us while the homeowner was watching him and then lied to beat the band. He doesn't live with us because he is not truthful. He is 26.
Well, just found out that we have no homeowners insurance it was dropped in January when our insurance went bankrupt due to hurricane Charley. Yes, I live in hurricane alley. So have spent the day trying to find insurance, with no success so far. I should have spent it sleeping since I worked last night, so have developed headache and I think an exacerbation of IBS that makes me spend too much time in the bathroom. I have tonight and Friday night off so hopefully I can recoup the lost sleep and weigh is Saturday. Hope everyone survives the childhood teenage years. I always say that I will take the terrible twos over any teenage time.

vickie, i'll have sassy toes next thursday. i'm getting a pedicure and manicure then. i told dh i felt like a goddess getting all this done. congratulations on turtling. that's something we always applauded at tops. i am still not exercising. i did the treadmill for about 25 minutes one day this week and my feet paid for it. i am planning to go back to curves monday and will see how they hold up to that.

melissa, i'm going to be gone all weekend, too. girl, we're going to have to be strong, aren't we?

frouf, sometimes i think those therapists don't have a clue what's going on in the real world.

kathy, i'll bet you have a good loss saturday. you're really determined. i admire your being able to cut down on your eating. i haven't been able to do that. (or so it seems.)

vivian, i hope you can get caught up on your rest. i'll bet it's hard to get insurance this time of year. good luck.

well, ladies, i don't know if i'll be here tomorrow or not. i'll try to get online before we leave. if i don't, though, all of you have a wickedly wonderful weekend. i'll be back sunday night or monday morning.

I just always want to try to look my best. Thomas has this uncle who acts just like Bill Cosby. He is so funny, but he will tell you exactly what he is thinking.. One time when they came to visit and he told me exactly this "girl I hardly recognized you. since you got so big." I swear if it would have been anyone else we would of had to fight!!!!!! He is very funny and one of my favorite people

somehow it submitted my message while I was typing.
anyway... Can you believe we have a tropical storm coming our way on my birthday weekend... I cant believe we are getting another storm after Ivan in September. There is still alot of reconstruction going on and I feel so bad for the people who are in the FEMA trailors for temp housing because they lost their homes during Ivan... I was bad again today so I think im going to enjoy my weekend storm or not and start back on Core on Monday... I am in a much better mood today, I am hoping to be able to advance to a different department very soon. The Manager told me directly that she wants me for the position. I wont even have to interview. I just have to talk my Manager into giving his approval to let me transfer. It is our peak time right now since I work in the Resorts and Condo world of vacations.... So I doubt he is going to let me go. So I am praying that I will be given the opportunity.

Morinin All!!!! busy busy board......Vickie, good going on the Turtling It beats the alternative
Kathy-'floring' as they call it isn't a bad thing....and with mostly core choices the points most likely will not add up, so that is something you'll need to keep your eye on. But didn't you lose 4 pounds on Core the first week!!! That is fantastic, so why the switch?? Like me maybe, just because I hear ya!!
I am not expecting anything on Saturday, don't know why, just have "that" feeling....but I will Keep on Keeping on!!! Have to!!
AKiss... I live in Palm Beach County, I just read the post where you asked that.....so it looks like you, I and Vivian are bracing ourselves for the winds and the heavy rains of Tropical Storm Arlene.....I think Deborah (haven't heard from here in a while ) is up by the Panhandle. I wish you all a safe weekend. Parts of our area are 'still' in a shambles....and Here we Go Again!! And GOOD LUCK on getting the promotion you deserve
Melissa have a wonderful weekend.....and for Aaron.
Look forward to hearing how things went.....but where is back home???
Have fun!!!!! and Enjoy!!!! and don't stress over the eating thing!!! We always can re-start again....I should know I am afterall, the of the Do-Overs
I did want to mention a bread item....for those of us who sometimes "need" it
I found...WASA MultiGrain and they are 0 points for 1 cracker, and they are a good size....kind of the size of a graham cracker. Worth it if you're craving a bread type thing or sandwich of tuna or something core....just a thought. Oh and two of them added together are 1 pt.
My Lord here it is Friday and W/I tomorrow....ughhh....that went fast.
Sandra have a good weekend, your post will be missed
Angela how fun was the Zoo...I bet the Kids love it....
Frouf - the eggplant pizza sounds great!! yummmmmm Great idea....
My problem is (again) I hate the thought of cooking, although I can, but don't have an once of anything left when I get in.....thank God Frank is sooo not a picky person.... Most nights he fends for himself
He likes that I do core becasue then we can 'share' our meals. The only time I have ENERGY is Saturday, then I am ready to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I envy those of you who work all day too but then come home and make dinner....you are my heros'
Well once again I am dressed and ready to Core.....I seem to have a FEW good days in a row and then..............well you all know
But everyday I put my best foot forward and today is no exception....so here I go.... .............so lets' keep on keeping on out there.......Linda

Frouf, I must have been posting at the same time as you last night and didn't see your big report about DD and the therapist. I'd definitely call her to discuss it -- I don't think she got an accurate idea of how it really is.

Linda, I wasn't doing Core that first week when I had the 4 pound loss, I was doing points one day, Core the next, switch back, etc. That's the week I said it wasn't against the law to switch in the middle of the week (maybe against the rules, but certainly nothing to be arrested for!) ... and had a horrible Thursday and Friday with Grandy's breakfast, Taco Bueno dinner, etc. That's when DH was out of town and my eating was very erratic to say the least. This week I've sort of behaved, but not really. This morning's weight was 154 and of course I had to sabotage it with a trip by McDonald's for an Egg McMuffin, but lunch will be fruit and dinner will be water if I have to!

I have to work but will be back later to see what all's going on. Have a great Friday, everybody!

Congrats Melissa, on a good weigh-in!

Vickie, I realized that since I changed my ticker to reflect my home scale, it was down 48, which means I needed my 45 pound chick. I guess my OFFICIAL WW weight loss is a little less than 45, but oh well, who's counting?

The kids really enjoyed the Zoo Man at the library. Madeline even got to help hold the 100 pound python! She got his tail. I was proud of my girls - they weren't scared or squeamish around the lizard or snakes, just interested. Yay!

Today I'm putting together a math treasure hunt for them. It should be fun.

And last night, I went in to check to see if the girls were going to sleep, and they had gotten out of bed and brought toys in to bed with them. Annika (the 4 year old) was feeling guilty, and jumped back into bed quickly, and managed to bash her head on the safety rail of her bed. She hit right above her right eye, sort of to the outside. Instantly, a HUGE purple goose egg grew, and today it's so swollen, she's having a hard time opening her eye. I've been checking her every few hours to make sure she didn't get a concussion, and she's fine - just bruised. But it sure looks funny. Aah, the adventures we have with our children, right guys?

Well, gotta get on with the day...
Angela
