Sandra..I will be praying for your brother...He has had a hard year..

We did our family Christmas dinner & gifts ..Wonderful evening...I love to let the wrapping paper pile up knee high as we unwrap. When Robin and I had our first Christmas together he began to clean up each paper as a gift was unwrapped and I convinced him to let it pile up for me ...We laughed tonight about how hard that was for him because he had some OCD tendencies..

Kinda nice that the cooking, shopping and decorating is all done for me..

I have been really tired lately even when I get extra sleep..Time to get
on track with diet & exercise and see if that helps..My daughter gave me a yoga mat and yoga DVD ...

Nancy, I have started walking in the morning before school. Within the first three days, I had a dramatic increase in energy during the afternoon! Hope exercising makes you feel better, too! Your Christmas celebration sounds nice. I'm glad you will able to spend the rest of the holiday being a guest! Have fun with your brother in Georgia

Sandra, I will keep your brother in my prayers!

Hope the rest of you chickies are having a wonderful time getting ready for all the Christmas festivities!!

Thank you all for the prayers. It's hard to be optimistic but we're all trying. He let his guard down with me this week and showed me his vulnerability. Sad....

I'm picking up the grands from school today. That always makes me feel good.

Nancy, I'm glad, too, that you'll get to be a guest the rest of the time. Enjoy yourself!

Sloan, Curtis and I have started walking, too. It does help give energy.

Vickie, I am having an "Oops" today. The wagon just ran over me.

Ya'll have a great day. I'll catch you later.

I have been listening to the news these days and I am heart sick at the terrible tragedy that has struck CT. Our prayers are with all those who lost a child or someone close to them during this shooting. It just all seems so senseless.

It is senseless--heartless, too.

Meandu, I read your blog. I have battled with guilty/loneliness, too. Today I gave in and sabotaged my eating plan. Tomorrow will be better. Good success to you. I'm planning on good success, too.

Rhonda, bet that nap felt good. I could tell by the photo on FB that she has a lot of energy. Ya'll must have had a great time.

Sandra, your brother is in my thoughts and prayers. Hope everything goes well for him. He needs some good news for a change.

Nancy, hope your boys will be safe on their trip to Africa. Do the ex in-laws go there every year? I remember they stayed home with you last year.

Hi chickies. Been busy. My daughter and her family are suppose to come here on Monday. I think the traffic will be really heavy. It's usually a 10.5 hr trip but I know it will take them much longer.

We had tilapia, baked sweet potato, slaw and coconut shrimp for dinner. It was delicious. I think that is my fav home cooked meal these days.

Pam..That is a long trip for your daughter . I know you will be glad when they arrive. The coconut shrimp sound yummy, are they hard ?

The ex-in-laws do a huge trip every few years, different places..Yes, last year both boys told them they were not going and leaving me alone my first Christmas without Robin.. This year I am doing great and we just did our normal things early..

Does anyone know how to make a light fruit dip ?? I have had some in a deli
that tasted like a cream cheese but thiner..

Nancy, the shrimp is very easy. I dip cooked shrimp in beaten egg, then roll in unsweetened coconut. I put a small amount of olive oil in a pan and brown both sides. I also dipped mine in sugar free marmalade and it was as good as the shrimp at Outback. I make a dip for fresh fruit. I take 8 oz. light cream cheese, add some sugar free/fat free pudding mix (not the whole pkg). I use french vanilla. Mix well and add about 1/2 small tub of lite cool whip, and i add some of the juice from the mandarin oranges if too thick. It's very tasty and on the healthy side. I cut up strawberries, fresh pineapple, mandarin oranges, kiwi. You can add more fruit of your choice, but those are my favorites.

Pam, thank you for the recipes. I love coconut shrimp.

Nancy, let us know what you buy tomorrow. I'm always nervous, too, when my loved ones are flying. Driving, too, for that matter.

I talked to my brother a couple of times tonight. He's in good spirits.
