Good Morning Chicks!

Here are some new pages. I'm getting ready to run to JC, get my hair cut and colored, and to stock up for our little snow storm/blizzard that is on the way tonight through Wednesday morning.

Only 39 days until Spring!

Good Morning:

Thanks for starting us Vickie. It was all I could do to crawl out of bed and go to training with Todd. He went a little easier on me since I've got this cold. I skipped aquafit and am now finishing some pension-related paperwork. It should be easier than it is!

Ok, last week I did not increase the amount of time I walked the dog, and I didn't lose two pounds, but I broke a barrier. This week I'm going to try to make sure that when I have a snack, it is a vegetable, with one 2 point chocolate allowed each day. I'm making a pot roast today that I hope will last a few days, and I bought some frozen wild salmon to cook later this week.

I'm going to finish this paper work and go back to bed. It's a rainy cool day here in NC Texas, and we had a loud thunderstorm last night. I have missed the displays of thunder and lightening since Toronto didn't have too many of those.

Have a great day...BBL..

Rhonda

I could go for a good thunderstorm right about now....as it is, it's snowing once again. Sigh. My kids have decided they prefer summer to winter. Can't say that I blame them.

I'm having a blah kind of day. I feel like hibernating. Perhaps I shall, once I get the laundry, dishes, and shopping done.

Hope you start feeling better soon Rhonda.

I stayed the same again...I must be at a plateau. I'm more concerned about my blood pressure. Now it is VERY low since I seriously dropped my salt intake. My lowest reading was 98/44! No symptoms except fatigue. I'm waiting for the Nurse Practitioner to call me back since last Friday.

Sheesh....it's alway something, isn't it?

When asked how he was this weekend, I heard a gentlemen tell someone, "I am vertical." Well, that's how I am, too. Allergies. Nuff said. I'm sure you've all had them, too, and know what I'm talking about. I have an appt with a specialist next week. Other than that--all is well here.

Rhonda, I'm sorry you have a cold, but you have perfect weather to snuggle in a robe. That's what I'm doing, too, while looking outside at the lake all around our home. Sounds like you have a good plan for snacking. I'll tell you about mine in a minute.

Vickie, your bp is extremely low. I passed out when mine got that low one time. Be careful.

Angela, I'm enjoying the hybernating right now. Wish you could get some thunderboomers and do some hybernating, too.

I am dusted, and this AM I turned down an offer for a fried pie made by a local Mennonite family. (Their baked goods are awesome!) We loaded up on veggies for lunch. I'm ready to be off my hiatus and back op. It's about time. Well, the alarm has been going off for days, but I just heard it.

Rhonda, I'm going to make a fruit smoothie this afternoon. When you say "veggie snacks", does that include popcorn? I'm not good at snacking on raw veggies. Guess I should try harder.

Have a good day, Chickies. I'm off for an afternoon of movies, recliner, and afghans.

Hi Ladies
Was a late day of me again, didn't sleep the night before so I took a sleeping pill last night and got up late.Everything after that ran late.

Have to get my computer room is shape all the junk from the other rooms are in here, now for the big throw out.Have 3 bags and a box to the big brothers and the other bags to the Emerald House. The rest in the garbage.

Its so frustrating,Right now I'm using the Harris Benedict formula for counting calories and they have a advertisement over there about a girl who lost weight in on them at all. She's not on a diet but eat certain foods that burns fat and doesn't store carbs. Of course I went all the why threw her speel and for 8 books @ only $47 She claims that its the sugar in healthy foods like whole wheat bread, soy milk & fruit, and fat that in margarine, but she did say that butter was ok to eat. Wish there was a way to get out of rut and we would all lose a healthy amount of body fat.

Have a nice evening I have to get back to dusting and vacuuming my living room.

Hi All:

The best thing about retirement is naps! I just woke up from 1 1/2 hour of solid sleep. Wonderful.

Maryann, I don't think that there are any special foods that do any magic or really burn fat. Just try to avoid added sugar, highly processed foods, etc. Eat as close to "raw" as you can and still cook your food. I've ranted a bit here about how hard it is to find good bread without sugar being the 2nd or 3rd ingredient, so I won't repeat that.

I'm convinced it's all about the slow way. We didn't gain weight in 5 pound chunks, we did it one ounce after another and that is the way it comes off, as infuriating as that is!

It helps to have a cold and no appetite!

Sandra, popcorn. No, I'm not eating it. If I had an air popper I would. I don't want to eat the microwave stuff much any more.

Rhonda

Hi everyone. I feel like I haven't been here is a long time. It was a busy weekend, and I'm glad its over. The Church dinner was last night, I spent Saturday afternoon cooking and getting stuff ready. We had a nice treat though -- dd had a late playdate and had dinner at a neighbors house. We had a nice dinner out just the two of us and we didn't have to pay a sitter. Double bonus!

Then Sunday I was at church basically all day -- service in the AM then home to get some stuff cooking, back to church at 1:30, run back home to check my oven at 3, back to church to keep preping things, run back home at 3:45 to get the rest of the food. Get the dinner started for 4:30 until 6. There was a missionary family from China that we support there speaking (thats why they had the dinner). Their talk was very intersting. Then everyone went upstairs for the class they are taking while we cleaned up the room and got all the food put away.

Of course we had waaaay to much, but sent the missionaries home with a pan of food and then 2 needy families got a good supply of cooked food. So, it was worth it. It was exhausting but I 'm glad I was able to help.

My leg is doing well, never really had any pain, but just uncomfortable where the stitches are -- pulling feeling. Another week and those come out. I am going to the Y tomorrow, I didn't dare try over the weekend. I need to also get strickly back on plan. Being home working on Friday was a bad thing food wise. Too much grazing on not the best things. So, I'm back at it today.

Vickie - what did your Dr say about your bp? Please let us know.

Sandra and Rhonda -- hmmmm, a nap would be wonderful. I don't think I've taken one of those since dd was an infant!

Maryann -- snow Wednesday. Could be nasty!

Hi to everyone else! Have a good night.

Hey Everybody!!!

I watched the hoarding show last night and that motivated me to do cleaning out today. When I watch that show I start asking myself why I keep things.
When the weather warms I want to clean out my attic and I need to watch that show every night. My house is not so bad but my attic looks like
the spaces in the show.

I must try something different because the scale is not moving. I am going to try eating 200 calories every 2-3 hours and see if that will take me through the day.
I think I can stick to 1200 calories that way and eat core.

Angela..That baby is getting close to being here isn't it. I hope you get the sleep you need.

Vickie..Keep us posted about your blood pressure.

Sloan..sounds like your laundry room came out nice. You get more done in a day than I do in a week.

Thanks, Chicks. You are all awesome! The plan is for me to take cut my bedtime beta-blocker in half. PA is going to talk to the Nephrologist when she returns on Wednesday. Then they'll decide what more to do if anything.

We have a huge snow storm moving in now that is to last through Wednesday morning. So I won't be going anywhere. My plan is to stay home and cook. I'll be careful Sandra. I see that dizziness and fainting are common side effects. I'm scared so I'm being careful. She says I can exercise but I think I'll use it as an excuse to hold off a couple more days until I hear from the Doctor. I'd like to not make myself sick in the middle of a blizzard! We are supposed to get 9-12 inches.

Sheesh.

Hey chickies, snow again! We will be staying home tomorrow.

Angela, tell your hubby if he wants to be around to see his kiddos grow up, he needs to have a sleep study. Sleep apnea predisposes people to high blood pressure and heart disease, and he does not want that.

I want to speak to the rest of you, but I'm falling asleep while I'm typing. TTFN

Angela, I didn't mean to sound harsh about your DH. It's just that sometimes we have to push those guys, and using the kids as ammo sometimes works. Hope you're not angry with me

Oh my Sloanie, no I'm not angry. I have been saying the same things to him for years. His dad had his first heart attack at 45, and dh turns 39 this year. He has high cholesterol already, and GERD that in dh's dad, has turned into Barrett's (basically precancerous cells in the esophagus.) The funny thing is, dh will go treat his GERD with the doctor but not the other, more serious stuff. I am really going to pressure him to try to lose weight along with me after baby's here, as I think that would help a lot of his medical problems. He's not grossly overweight, (205 pounds at 5'10"ish) but I know just 10% would help a lot. I tend to cook fairly healthy meals, but he chooses what he eats for some lunches and snacks, so I can't starve him into losing weight.

It's snowing here now. We've got your storm right here for you Vickie, you should see it soon and it's another snow day for the kiddos. I'm trying to cook up some fun activities, because they're already at each other's throats and it's not even 8am yet!

Hope we all have a great day!

Hi Ladies

Had a lot to do this morning had to go to the PO and than to the Bank and than to the insurance compnay. Nowe I getting ready for my cansta card game this afternoon. Had plans to go to H&R Block to get my taxes done but my 1099 form hasn't come in the mail,on the way I was going to get the remainder of Leo's clothes donated to our local charties. Now I hear that we are going to have some kind of a blizzlard on Wed. expecing 6-12" of snow. YIKES!!! It going to be a white Valentines than a red one.

Got on the scale this morning and I'm up 2 again bring me up to 174. This morning I went right away into low carbing. For breakfast had 2 stuffed tomato 1/2 with redused fat cheese. This afternoon I'm going to have ham roll ups with hot dog relish inside.Tonight Having salmon with 2 veggies. Never thought I would go so extreme now that I gaining.SB Phase 1 is for me,until I get this weight back to where I can handle it.

RHONDA-Its so hard to lose, and its getting harder the older I get. There no reason for the amount I weight except for a medical problem somewhere that my doctor hasn't pick up. I count calories and use portion control plates to measure my foods. Getting frustrating, but I guess we're all in the same predicament.

PAULA-I know about the white stuff, but I'm prepared so I not afraid unless the electric goes out.

See you late this afternoon or tomorrow morning if the power doesn't go out.
