Just woke up from a nap, DH is still sleeping, I need to get dinner started. It felt really good going for a bike ride, unfortunately BIL had to leave before I got home (he got volunteered at is kid's school) and dh had a mild panic, so I didn't get as much done as I wanted (or ride as far). But my mom (a retired nurse) is coming by in the morning so I can go to knitting class, I'll run my errands after while she's here.
Nancy - Have a great weekend by yourself. I always enjoy that.
Maryanne - Thanks for the congrats. According to the USDA Hardiness map, Cape Cod is zone 7 ( http://www.growit.com/bin/USDAZoneMaps.exe?MyState=MA). Just FYI if you're interested. Zone 7 means you have an average annual minimum temperature between 0 and 5 degrees F.
Have a great weekend if I don't stop back again.

We've been working in the yard all day sprucing up for Rhonda and Doyle's arrival. Meantime, Rhonda called. She said to tell all the Chickies, "Hi." She and Doyle are in NM for the balloon fiesta. They'll be here for a visit sometime next week. Life is good.
Sorry this is short. I am chillin' on the sofa.

Hi everyone. Its been a busy week. I've been doing ok op. My meeting wed went well, did great with food. I did have a glass of wine at the cocktail reception. Thursday started my new week for WPAs and Ive done well to track everything. Not much going on this weekend. The weather is a perfect fall New England weekend. Cool and finally sunny. Not sure what we'll do this afternoon, but this evening a town near us has a Homecoming block party. There is a parade at 5 and then they block off the down town and have entertainment, food vendors and games for the kids. Then tomorrow, I think we are going to corn maize. Should be fun.
Maryann, Congrats on your loss!
Tech, How is dh doing? I'm glad he is home and that your BIL is able to help out. Are you needing a visiting nurse? It may be something to look into.
Sandra, glad to hear that Rhonda is on her way,. It should be a great visit for both of you.
Well, got to get moving. Gymnastics this morning. BBL

Good Morning Ladies
We have a cold cold morning have the fireplace going to get the chill out of the house.
Hope it warms up a little as I like to get some walking done.
Nothing new, except for housework that I failed to to do during the week. My friend and I are going to the movies to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua tomorrow or Monday afternoon. LOVE those talking animated animal cartoon movies, like Happy Feet that was cute.
NANCY-Sometimes the weigh is stubborn and don't go down but if you stay on the core the scale will move.Have a wonderful weekend relaxing.
DONNA-Glad that your enjoyed you nap & bike riding.I know how hard it is to have to be in those circumstances,DH be so ill & the panic mode set in. Your lucky that your BIL & Mom are connected to the medical profession They must have re insured you & your DH how things look. Yes, I did look for the zones in my garden book and we are zone 7 ,when we plant tomatoes we can't put them out until the last frost which is the first week of June Where in NY where we used to live the tomatoes when it just after Mothers Day.
PAULA-Thanks for the congrats hope I can see another lose now that I watching my grain carbs.Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs

Good Morning Cheekas! Sorry I've been MIA for the last two days, just been super busy, and haven't signed in. I'm doing good on core, lost 1.8 lbs on my WI this morning, and after 3.4 last week, I'm feeling pretty good. I don't go to meetings, as my BF and I are doing this together, and we're pretty good at keeping each other in check. The puppy woke up at 5am this morning, so I've been up playing with him and trying to get some homework done before the BF gets up. I had an apple but we'll be having omlets after our gym work out. Its Football season so weekends are tough, but we've got all the essential snacks to help us not go off track and eat something bad, if you don't have it you can't eat it!!
Rohnda and Sandra have fun together I love visiting family! Do you two see each other at least once a year? So jealous about the balloon festival, I've seen pictures from when my mom went, it has to be so neat!
Tech - I agree that you should look into a visiting nurse, definitely helped my mom when my dad was sick. Just good to have a schedule for you and your time.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Steph

Hey there
It's me again.
I was just wondering.
Does anyone know how to make cinnamon apples. Or which heading in the recipe site they would be.
And also would they be core.
I would think they would be. But not sure.
Thanks.

Coco, I was looking for one and couldn't find one here. I did search the WW site and there are quite a few. Some done in the oven and others in the microwave. I found an apple chip recipe that came out very good. HTH

Good morning. I talked to Rhonda yesterday. They're still in NM and are having a great time. She said the balloon fiesta was glorious. They should be back in TX sometime this evening. I'm so ready to see them.
Someone asked if we see each other yearly. We have the past 3 years since she and my cousin married. I feel like I've known her formuch longer than 3 years.
My eating was not so good the past 2 days but I'm back on program today. Looks like I have a lot of exercise ahead today so I should be all right for wi Tuesday. I hope so anyway.

Good Morning Everyone,
DH is doing OK, thanks for asking. As long as his care giver doesn't kill him he should be fine. Friday night he didn't sleep well, so I didn't sleep well, I'm seriously thinking of bringing in the air mattress and sleeping bag (we only have one bed) and sleeping separately for a while. I also started TOM today, so yesterday I was PMSing, tired and crabby, and his complaining got to me. The two main issues we have are an open wound which needs packing, that drains under the ostomy bag loosening the seal and an ostomy bag that leaks into the open wound. Or maybe that's the same problem.
We do have home care nursing coming. I'm not sure how much good they are besides to take his vitals and tell me how the wound looks. Both days even though we told them when they packed the wound to make sure not to tape over the bag flange, they did and both times a leak started in that area and got into the wound. At least the nurse yesterday left saline so I could rinse out the wound. They're supposed to send the wound nurse Monday or Tuesday (I'm guessing she's off this weekend), hopefully she's more help.
I'm planning on going back on core today. Hopefully I can make it work. I just need to plan, a lot.
Sorry if this grossed anyone out.
Sandra - Have fun w/Rhonda. Hopefully you can encourage each other to stay on plan.
Paula - Beautiful fall weekend here too. Wish I could enjoy it. Have fun at the corn maze, I'll bet dd loves it.
Coco - I haven't had cinnamon apples in a long time. I used to just peel and slice the apple, and put in the microwave with a little cinnamon and sugar, I would think they would be core as long as you sub splenda for the sugar.
Steph - Congrats on the loss
Have a great day everyone.

Hi Ladies
Was it so BITTER COLD out this morning, that I didn't want to leave the warm bed.Now it damp & dreary and my old bones are aching.
Went to brunch with my friends and I ate everything that doesn't fit the core plan.I have to watch or I'll gain the 3 lbs that I lost.
STEP-Big congrats on your 1.8 loss You're doing great, thats a total of 5.2,keep going no matter what your doing it working.
COCO-Three nights at a church revival that in that cold, should be some reward given. I have no idea how to make cinnamon apples,Glad of the gals had a answer for you.
SANDRA-I can't imagine how excited you are to have Rhonda there with your. Have a great time reminiscing.Keeping my fingers crossed that you have good W-I on Tuesday.
DONNA-Sorry about both of you having a bad night sleeping. You are going though a lot right now Donna and you have a right to be over whelmed, even it its TOM doing that to you. Sending some [[[[[[ ]]]]]good vibes your way.
Have a wonderful Sunday

Hi chickies! I'm back! I sort of fell of the wagon for awhile, but I'm back and ready to start losing again. I'm not exactly sure where I am, weight wise, but will find out exactly where I am on Wednesday when I go and wi. According to my scale, I gained about 7 pounds, from my lowest point, but only three pounds since my last wi. At least I realized my faults before I gained it all back!
I can really tell the difference of how I feel from when I was op. I don't feel all that great. I want to get back op and start feeling good again.
I went to the grocery store today and stocked up on core foods. I cooked up a storm as well. I made core chili, 3 batches of the cold strawberry soup(I use it as a drink), 4 batches of cottage cheese oatmeal blueberry pancakes and some tomato and bulgar(not sure where I got the recipe). I also made a lean roast and had that with carrots and mashed potatos for dinner. Got in all my water today, all my milk, just lacking a few fruits or veggies so I'll probably make a smoothie and add my oil to it.
I missed you all! But I'm back to stay and ready to get back op and start eating good food again.
I changed my ticker to what my scale says, but it's not exact and won't be until I go to ww on Wednesday.
