"you look thinner"

  • I received my first "you look like you've lost a little weight" from a dear friend today. We had glanced at pictures from a few months ago and I haven't lost very much weight, but I know that I'm also feeling a little more muscular and I'm beginning to notice a difference with my clothes. I was surprised by what she said, which made it so wonderful to hear too!
I have put exercise on hold for four days this week as life has taken a whirlwind of my schedule - but truthfully, I know I need to organize myself a little better and be more kind to myself... I know that I want to lose weight amongst other things. I know that I need to exercise in order to do that. I know my life will get busy but I want exercise to be one of those things I won't sacrifice for time, like my meals, showers, and (usually) a good night's rest, etc.
Coming here has been such a source of support for me as I started to achieve my goals and I'm so glad to be back. Mentally too, I think... I'm adjusting myself back into a gym attitude. I just wanted to say that and remind myself of why I'm here. I almost started to lose track but I'm glad it's time to get back into it.
    Thanks
  • Congratulations that is awesome to hear.

I've noticed that you won't often get "you look like you've lost weight" from people that are around you all the time. Since it is gradual, it is hard to notice. When I went and visited my family a few months ago, I had lost around 20 lbs since I last saw them and I didn't think they'd notice because well 20 lbs doesn't show up well when you are in your upper 200s. I was surprised that I got a lot of comments. So even if people don't comment, don't think they don't notice

    Keep up the good work
  • WTG on the first compliment. It does feel good and you deserve it. Congrat's.
  • WTG. Doesn't it just feel great.
