Promise to myself for today - you too?

  • This morning I am promising myself that I will do my best today to eat healthy, drink my water and exercise.

    What do you promise yourself?
  • eat healthy
    drink just water
    lose weight
    study
    and start to proper exercise
    so same as usual
  • I promise myself not to go OP, to finish 6 glasses of water, and exercise for an hour later this evening
  • I promise that I will be KIND to myself today, whatever that may entail.

I will let myself go to sleep at 8pm without tidying the house, I will eat all the fruit and veg I have with me, and maybe even buy some more. I will let myself have a cookie, if that is truly what I want and I will not beat myself up about it.

Most of all, I will let myself rest and try not to get too wound up about not exercising. (I am resting for a week after over-training)
  • To pull myself up from the bootstraps. I had a horrid weekend in terms of diet and exercise and I feel worse than if I had a hangover. Maybe I do have a hangover. Workout, eat right, drink water, rest.
  • I promise not to give up.
  • I promise myself that I will walk today even though my muscles are sore from yesterday's weight workout. I will drink more water and eat more protein.
  • I promise that tomorrow (it is Monday evening already here) I will not be hard on myself if the scales haven't moved down. I'm doing everything right, so I just have to learn to have some patience.

I also promise that I will stick to my limited exercise routine, as I was another one who over exercised last week and actually made myself ill. I am finding it hard to get off the treadmill and exercise bike after only 25 mins, but I will force myself to stick to that time frame.

I wish I could promise to drink enough water, but I just CAN'T! I am really not thirsty and I find that when I FORCE the water down, I am going to the toilet every 10 to 20 mins (no exaggeration!).

That should do for me for the moment.

    Good thread!

  • What a good idea! Me too...

I promise to eat snacks that are only fruit or veggie related.
I promise to eat only reasonable portions of everything else.
And I'm also with Kayley... I promise not to give up!

  • I'm starting slowly since I won't be able to go food shopping for the next two days. So I have two simple goals:

Exercise at least a half hour
Drink plenty of water (now off to find my water bottle)
  • I promise not to eat a morsel with the dreaded words 'High Fructose Corn Syrup' or 'Partially Hydrogenatred Whatever Oil'

I promise to bring my lunch to work and to eat it.

I promise to not say the word 'failure' to myself in the mirror, even if I think it.
  • Me too!

I'm oh so tired today though, and I have work until 5:30. Ehhh... It's okay though. After work I promise to go to the gym!! All of you ladies can hold me to that.

I promise to eat healthy and not binge... binge = bad. Girl scout cookies = bad (when not in moderation).

Mmmmmm, Girl Scout cookies. I love those things. My favorite is the lemon. A friend of mine says, "I don't see how you can eat those things, the box they come in tastes better than the cookies!"

    Pooey.

My only promise is to get back to better eating and portion control. After my binge Saturday night, followed by my usual big Sunday dinner, I gotta get back to really watching my calories this week.

  • I promise I'll do some homework tonight and finish writing my letter to my Japanese friend - and I won't chicken out and use English!!

I also promise tonight I'll go to the gym and lift some weights and do some crunchies so my stomach doesn't feel so flabby.
