This should be Illegal

  • Fast Food chain, "Hardee's" 1420 calories burger....

Look at the comment from Hardee's CEO. This guy is a total irresponsible.

  • But that burger was darn tasty I blame it on the baby
  • Quote: But that burger was darn tasty I blame it on the baby

It does look YUMMY!!! I wonder if I could blame it on my baby. He's 14

I really didn't understand what FOOD PORN was until I seen that!!!

I think I need to stare at the 2lbs of fat compared to 2lbs of muscle picture.
    Will Power Stay with me!!!
  • Excuses
Now here's an excuse i cannot use
  • It certinly does look good.Which is why I seldom eat fast food anymore. Arby's and Carl's Jr have new montser burgers too. One day, when I've reached my goal I'll celibrate by getting one until then it'll be longing looks from afar.
  • "not a burger for tree-huggers."

Nope, it's a burger for tree fertilizer...
  • Jessica, you're awesome.
  • Quote: "not a burger for tree-huggers."

    Great quote. I love it.

Can I blame it on my fur babies? The dog made me do it.

We had talked about this in another thread Frenchie and about as far as Sy and myself got was saying it sure would be good with a cold beer. That burger looks awsome.

However I don't think it should be resteraunts resposibility for making everthing healthy. Yes I think they should have some good food to offer but if they don't they should be aloud to serve what they want and not have to worry about a law suit from someone saying McDonalds made me fat. I made myself fat. No one forced me. It's all my fault and I'll get myself out of it.
  • When i meant "illegal" it was just a figure of speech. I've seen this movie "superesize me" that was based on that lawsuit against McDonald's

As for controlling or not fast-food industry, this is a quite touchy question. On one side, there is the freedom to sell whatever you want to whoever you want. On the other side, you have large proportion of obese americains. Canada is not too far behind.

What's to do then? I think fast food chains should be more responsible corporate citizens. Is Hardees taking it's responsibilty by offering a 1420 cal. burger? I don't think so.
I've also red an article about fast food chains, here in the Montreal Region, strategically locating near High-Schools.

We Individuals have a responsibilty regarding our own health; but i beleive fast-food chains have an equivalent one in the products they are offering.

I now have to stop talking about fast food....since i'm having my meal replacement lunch in 15 minutes and do not want to blow a gasket ;o)
  • LOL on blowing a gasket. I see where you are coming from with the corporate citizen thing but I'm just not so sure that is the answer. It's kind of like proabition years ago. They took the alchool out of the business but it still did not go away. I think the problem lies more in the mindset of the people. They demand huge portions and fast food. It has to start with us and then big corporations like Mcdonalds will start offering other things when they find what the are selling is not selling. It's like Taco Bell here. They offered a healthy menu and advertised it. I loved it. I would order it all the time. I must have been one of the few that would. People still bought the other high fat foods and now Taco Bell no longer offers there lite menu.
