  • Hi, all!

I was very afraid to measure myself when I began SBD. Now I really regret not having done it!

So, if you are a newbie to SBD, measure yourself now!

I finally got the guts up to measure myself in June. And then I finally got around to doing it again in August. So after nearly four months of SBD, I have some results to admire, and they make me feel so good!

I've heard some people say that they didn't lose much in pounds but had lost a lot in inches, and that gave them the willpower to stay strong. So let's post our inches lost and support each other...pounds are not the only way to measure our loss!

As of this last measurement, I've lost 16.65 inches!

I lost 3 inches from my waist, 7.75 from my hips, 3.25 from the fullest part of my bust, 2.5 from my rise (that's from the waist in the front, through the legs, to the waist in the back), and .15 from my ankle. Wow! Now I'm wishing that I had measured at the beginning so I could see how very much I have to go!

    Post your inches lost!
  • I regret not having measured myself too. I did, however, measure my belt last night from the hole that I used to use to the latest hole I have currently punched is almost 4 1/2 inches! Okay, I need to buy a new belt.
  • I love measuring myself because it does show a big improvement.

I started my new healthy eating and exercising phase back in May. I was on quasi Low Carb up until 3 weeks ago when I started SBD. I have put the inches lost, then in parentheses what my current measurements are.

11 inches on my waist (45 inches)
10 inches on my hips (56 inches)
6 inches on my chest below boobs (44 inches)
6 inches around my shoulders (54 inches)
4 inches x 2 on each upper thigh (27 inches each)
3 inches x 2 on each upper arm (18 inches each)
1 inch x 2 on each wrist (7 inches each)
1 inch x 2 on each ankle (10 inches each)
1 inch on my neck (17 inches)

    Total - 43 inches
  • I lost only 5.2 lbs, but.... lost 15.5 inches in 4 weeks. The only other thing I am doing is Curves for Women 3 times a week. I am so stoked!

  • WOW you chicks are showing great losses. I will measure tomorrow and post my inch loss (hopefully) I did measure myself last year when I started, and then again 3 or 4 mos ago.
  • Wow! Good going, girls!
I'm going to measure myself tomorrow. All I can find right now is a steel tape measure... I know I have a sewing tape around here somewhere...
  • Steel tape measure...Ellis, that would hurt! Glad you're going to find a softer one. I bet you'll be amazed at what you'll find!

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone on such impressive losses! What great work!!!

Barb, your loss on your belt is amazing! I just bought a belt on Wed. during my shopping trip. I hadn't worn them in years because I didn't know they made them long enough for me to wear. In fact, I suppose they didn't, because the 2X size is just big enough for me now.

Nelie, look at your loss! WOW!!! We must be about the same bone size, as our wrists and ankles are the same (my ankle is 10.6 now, but my wrist is 7"). I haven't measured all the areas you have, but my thigh is 24", waist is 43", hips are 46.5". I bet you'll be there (or much lower) when you get to where I'm at. I'm so excited for you and all the hard work you have done!
  • I am finally seeing a change in my body enough that I see it. I have lost a lot of belly fat and my legs are slimming as well - finally!
  • Chili, you are in ONEderland!!!

Good for you, girl!!! Wow!!! When is your birthday? You are more than halfway there!
  • I started measuring in April I think. Have the numbers at home and will post tomorrow.

    Great job ladies!
  • Oh, my gosh! I thought I read that you were going to START measuring in April, Jenn.
  • we should make this into a sticky and we could post our measurments once a month or 2 or what ever you wanted.

    right arm- 12 in
    left arm- 12.5 in
    waist -29 in
    hip -39.5
right thigh- 24.5 (top) 18.5 (just above the knee)
    left thigh- 24 and 18
    bust 36 in
    r calf-15.5
    l calf- 15.5
  • Little Chick, that's a great idea...let's see how well it is received and then maybe we can sticky it. I know Ruth and Ellis try to limit the stickies so that the forum doesn't start halfway down the page.

I can't believe how totally little you are, LC! Ellis was not kidding...you are a BBQ skewer!!!

I was thinking that your arms are tiny, but then I did mine and found that it's 14.5"...only 4" bigger than my ankle! Oy! When did they start making 10" anklets?

Still, your waist is the tiniest thing! Wow!!!

I'm looking forward to reading more posts!
  • Beachgal I just love you. You are so good for my ego. My waist is the tiniest thing I have. I have big thighs and a bubble butt. When I was just a little girl my nick name was balloon butt because my waist was so small and my butt stuck out. That and when I hit purberty my uncle called me chubby chicken. ( No wonder I have issues with my body). I too have big ankles. Thanks again for the compliment.
  • Well, crap. I didn't measure myself either. I've lost a lot on my waist and butt, though. I went down from a size 12 to a size 10. Does that count?

For all you women who are losing inches in the boob-area, I'm SO jealous. Mine just WILL NOT go away. My mom says "Well, if you lose 20 more pounds, I'm sure some will go away" but I just don't think so, unfortunately.

Plus, I won't lose 20 more pounds because I'm going to be 140 for the REST OF MY LIFE. Volleyball starts soon.....maybe I'll lose some weight then. If not, I may have to go back to (shudder) phase 1 again. I might cry.

A big WOO HOO to everyone who has lost tons of inches! Congratulations!
