  • Good evening,

Nothing much happening tonight. I actually got off work at a decent hour. I had wanted to ride Tanyah but we got a light rain. We did talk to Grizzlefart to get his side of things and his intentions. We proposed us leasing two stalls from him and we do all the care on our own horses. That way we know what kind of care they are getting. Never a dull moment. Well, for you, it may be dull!!

Kit - I did chuckle last night when I saw your suggestion. And yes, I did forget to mention it this morning. Don't cut back! I love your posts. I personally have adopted "bugger off" from one of Hugh Grant's movies.

Scooter - A farrier is basically a horse podiatrist. on the loss!

Deb - Welcome to the group!

Hello to everyone else. I need to go walk the dog before bed.

  • Hey Chickadees!!
Yay, it's nearly Friday!!! Working at home tomorrow, having a poker party, two days off, what more could a girl ask for?? Well, there's a lot but I won't go there now.

After work tonight I went to the Y again. Ok - all together now, like the Village People.... Y M C A ... stand up and sing it! I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and then was going to swim, but the pool was full. So I came home and baked the neighbors dinner for tomorrow. I set myself up a little with the batch of brownies. Ack!

Hubby was in NYC today and came home so tired. Said all the escalators were out in the train station and was up and down hundreds of stairs today so I let him off the hook on the exercise tonight. Lisa --- Trick to get him to exercise. pullllleeeeezzzzzzzzeeeeeeee 5 minutes on the bike last night was the first exercise he has done in forever --- unless you count the remote clicky and the mouse playing computer games!! He knows darn well he has to lose some weight and get healthy. 6 months ago the Dr. told him he was borderline diabetic and needed to get on the right track with food and exercise. He is doing a poor job and I am worried about his future health. But, we all know that no one can force you to eat right and exercise. You have to want it for yourself. I have been gently encouraging him and I think I am breaking through a little bit. This weekend I am going to try to trick him into exercise by going somewhere that we have to walk a lot. Not sure where yet. Maybe the zoo or downtown. I think we would both have much more success if we did this together.

Thin - Sounds like you are going to be very busy running around for a while, but I'm glad to hear you are getting a schedule worked out for you mom and hopefully she will have a speedy recovery. Can't wait to hear about the new machine when it arrives!

Terri - I hope you are able to work out arragements with the horses and the stables. I know you will feel a sense of relief when you are comfortable with their situation. Good Job holding steady on the weight!

Kit - I just love your posts and your expressions. You bring such life to the group! I am so happy that more restaurants are offering more healthy options.

Lisa - See above....baking got me in trouble today! Pictures can be uploaded from your computer, but they need to be fairly small file sizes -- there is a "Manage Attachement" button at the bottom. You can also use the "Insert Image" button at the top (Looks like a mountain) to link to pictures that are hosted on another website ... such as a photo storage site. If that still doesn't help just let me know and I'll try to give you more guidance.

Scooter -- WOOHOO!! Good job on the loss! Keep it up and you'll be at that goal in no time!

Judy - Congratulations on the puppy win!

Pat - Good to see you popping in. Here is a bonk on the head for you!!

2cute - Miss you too! When are you getting a new computer?

Now for the question of the day....... LUCKY - Did you get in your 30 minutes of exercise????

I am tired.....hubby said he'd come to bed and snuggle with me so I am outta here!

    Night gals! Love to all!
  • Hey everyone

I'm supposed to be doing a few other things right now, but I couldn't help getting in here to share with all of you. Ok, now please someone start a big ol' drumroll...

I made it under 300 lbs. today!!!

The scale said 299 at Decisions! I was in so much shock, I can't even describe it. I just smiled and said, "Wow, that's pretty cool."

Now, Reality Flats kicks in and reminds me that the WI at Curves will be 2 lbs. more because I wear shoes on the scale. That is also the weight I use to show here since they are always two pounds off. So, I can't slack now, but WOW!!! Seeing the scale go under 300 was incredible!

Ok, I've been on here way too long already. My day job ends on the 6th, and then I take a week off in Texas with my friend. I can hardly wait for the more relaxed schedule.

I'm really laughing hard at myself right now. I started this post hours and hours ago and thought I had submitted it! Thank goodness the kids didn't shut it off for me.

    Night everyone!

    Andria
  • YAY ANDRIA!!!!!

I was up 2 pounds this morning! It's amazing what slacking up here and there on food can do! I exercised 6 of 7 days this past week and still had a small gain. Well, I am not going to let it get me down. I am fighting it back off!

Today is going to be busy trying to juggle work and getting the house ready for friends coming over tonight! One of my girlfriends e-mailed me about all kinds of junk food she is bringing so I am going to put together a veggie and fruit tray to try to counteract the yummy junk food.

No time for the gym today, but since the exercise bike is in the office with me where I am working I am going to try to get in a few short sessions on it while I read stuff for work.

Have a fabulous day!!! Talk to you later.
  • WOW! Good going Andria!

Thanks everyone for the welcome, and advice about the chairs and scales. i ordered the scale from Linen and Things last night. The closest store is 30 miles, and I don't go that way on my 77 mile (one way) commute to work. Shopping is a pain because I live so far from any stores, but living out here is good and clean and beautiful!
Working from home today, I stay on this PC too because my dial-up line is so slow on my work PC that I need to multi-task. I only get on my home PC a few times a week, not everyday. By the time I get home from work, and cook, pick up the house, and watch House Hunters (addicted) it's almost bedtime. 4am comes early!
But now that I have been here, and have "met" you folks I will make a try to come on more often.
    Thanks again!
    Debra
  • Hey Debra -
Good job getting the scale ordered!! I am so much more accountable for my food and exercise when I know the scale is sitting there waiting for me to step up!

I love House Hunters. I just always forget it's on and only see it when I happen upon it. Working at home is great! I do it on Wed and Fri. However, I am lucky enough to have cable access!

I am quite the lazy worker today - still sitting her in my PJs. My allergies are kicking my butt today. I think I am going to shower and take the neighbors their dinner and then come back for more work.

    Later!

I also tend to pop in here more on my work at home days because it's easier with a 2nd computer to surf the web while I work on my laptop.
  • Halo everyone!!

Wow, I cannot believe that another week is almost gone...it flew by and here we are at TGIF again I had a really enjoyable day out shopping with my youngin yesterday...still kinda hard to think of him as anything but my "baby" even though he is almost 6' tall and wears a size 12 men's shoe already *LOL* I ended up spending $170, which is not bad for 3 pairs of jeans and 6 shirts. He still needs a new backpack, more shoes (this boy is into shoes WAY more than I am and his cost at least twice as much as those that I buy do*L*), and a hoody (hooded sweat jacket), but he is looking for those online so he can get stuffies that not everyone in school will have the same of. He is a really happy little camper right now and can't quit talking about starting skateboard camp next Monday...I am gonna miss having him and his friends around all day. I guess it will be a trial-run for when he goes back to school...I am still going through way too much separation anxiety when he goes back to school for his being 14, I know *L* Ahh well, this too shall pass hehe

Are there any fans of "North and South", the miniseries, out there? I just got notification today from Amazon that it is coming out on DVD October 5th!! I am going to preorder my copy today! *L*

Lisa ~ Mmmm, cookie dough is a big weakness of mine for sure. I love baking and cooking also and could probably cut hundreds of calories off a day from not taste-testing the things I make *L* Playing piano in a wedding sure does sound like it would be fun. My hubby's grandmother has played the organ in church and at weddings, etc, for over 60 years now and she is going to nursing homes during the week and playing for others. She just turned 80 years old this month and still going strong...says it's the music and playing to make other's happy and I believe her since it's all she talks about! hehe

Scooter ~ WTG on the loss hon!! *whistle* Keep up the good work and keep smilin'! Were you happy to that they ousted Holly on Big Brother 5? Not quite sure why, but that girl was like nails on a chalkboard to my psyche! *LOL*

Pat ~ Sounds like you have been really busy...hope things settle down for you soon! I have missed seeing you around!

Terri ~ for the smile and encouragement! Still hoping that you can get rid of grizzlefart altogether...anyone who would mistreat a horse or any animal is just psychotic. Hugh Grant is one of my hubby's faves and he can mimic him so well that it's all I can do not to ask him to talk like that ALL of the time *L* We have very interesting conversations sometimes with Chris talking in a British accent and me talking in and Australian accent...mostly just to hear my son tell his friends how crazy his parents are

BarbPA ~ Y M C A! I just heard that song on the retro lunch radio yesterday and actually was thinking of you! *L* Sounds like they need a bigger pool though, rats dern it Have you decided whether or not you are going to join? Have fun with your company tonight

Andria ~ WOOHOO WTG on seeing that first digit slide down to 2! That had to have felt soo good...keep up the great work hon and wear a pair of light sandals to the other weigh in! *L*

Hate to end and send, but I am taking CJ and some of his friends to lunch and then to see the "White Castle" movie today. Everyone have a wonderful day and will cya all again soon!
    Buggering off for now *LOL*

  • Hi,
Yah, the scale will bring reality home. i always thought that food was a way to sooth and comfort, it's not quite so comforting now that i can't walk! The accident was a wake-up call.
Barb---I sit here in my gown and hair all weirded out and am glad my customers do not see me! If DSL or any high speed lines come out here I will be doing the happy dance in the rain!!!

Kit.....My baby is 30 with 4 kids! He never said being an only child was an issue, so he made a little Army to keep him and his wife company. I remember as a teen his feet were a 12, and he ate twice his body weight daily!

Back to work. I guess we'll make a run to Wally-World after work. Ever notice that there is a Walmart no matter which way you go? Spooky....
    Debra
  • Me again,
Thought I'd pop in to see what was happening.

I took dinner over to our neighbors. My heart just went out to this mother and her family. The little boy is currently at home - waiting to undergo his 5th round of chemo. He and his little sister were sitting at the kitchen table eating sandwiches. He is such a sweetie - sitting there with his little bald head, sandwich in hand thanking me for bringing dinner. Oh - I get teary eyed just thinking about him. I don't know the mother well, but we chatted for a few minutes and I had to give her a great big hug! They are such a strong family and I know they we get through this. If anyone is interested in looking, they have a wonderful website for Liam.
    Liam's Website

We are having a nice little rainstorm. It is sunny as can be out and just started pouring. I may have to go look for a rainbow.

Kit - Yes, I am pretty sure I am going to join the Y. I plan on going there Sat and Sun and then will probably sign up on Sunday. It's $50 to join and then $40 per month. They don't make you sign any kind of contract. I'm sure after a few weeks I'll fall into a good routine and figure out the best times to swim and whatnot. I also want to try out some of the classes.

Debra - Yep - sounds like we look about the same when we work at home. LOL

Who are the Big Brother fans? Scooter and Kit? Anyone else? I was so happy to see Holly go last night. She got on my nerves, but more than that I wanted to see Adria/Natalie stay so that the twist can play out next week and they can both enter the house. I can't wait to see the look on people's faces. Although, I am sure they will both be big targets then. I love trashy TV. Hehe!!

    Have a great night everyone!
  • WHEEEEEEEE!

    CONGRATULATIONS ANDRIA. WAY TO GO!!!!!!

    :cheers

  • Yeah!!! We are home. It's always good to get away, but even better to get back home. Now I'm starting to do my laundry. Of course one of my favorite outfits was stolen from the back of the car, but I made up for it with all I bought new. We had to go back to the outlet mall to replace Marks jeans that got stolen, so I had to make all the stores again to make sure I didn't miss aything. Then on the way home we cam across another outlet mall and we had to stop there too. And they had a Coldwater Creek Outlet store. Coldwater creek is my favorite catalogue and I drool over their clothes, and on every trip we make, I check out the outlet malls on the route to see if there is a Coldwater Creek, but there has never been one close. I'm not sure even what state we were in, much less the city, but I took advantage of the fact we found it.

Tomorrow I will weigh and see how much damage I did on the trip. I was really good to start out with, but later on it became so much easier just to pull in to fast food places. Oh well...

Andria Where in Texas are you going to be? If you come to Dallas, let me know and I'll see if we can get together.

2Cute, we vsited 2 casinos while we were gone. On the first night we stayed at the Isle of Capri in Vicksburg Ms and I won 100.00, then on Sunday we went to Atlantic City and I gave it all back to Mr Trump. But it was fun!

Thin, I'm keeping your mom in my prayers.

Terri, BarbPA, Lisa, Deb, Lucky and everyone else, have a great weekend!
  • Well, I did and I didn't get my exercise in last night!!!!!

I started but at 17 minutes the phone rang - it was one of my best friends and we proceeded to talk for 3 hours!!!! Hey, my mouth was moving, isn't that exercise!!!

My multi-millionaire friend just emailed from the Queen Mary!!!! She said they are eating their way across the ocean!!!!

I will catch up on replies tomorrow.

    Night..
  • Hello fellow chicksters.
Only have a minute ... but had to congratulate Andria !!!! I know you will NEVER see that 300 mark again. Keep up the great work !!

Barbg... congrats on your casino winnings. I got lots on congrats from my last post... but I LOST all of those nickels I won.
My husband did great this afternoon. He won $2,700.
I won't get to see a dime of it. LOL
I am hoping he shares his winnings with me next Tuesday. They are having that big drawing that night for $30,000.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Tomorrow is my granddaughtes 4th birthday. We are having her party here so I have got to go get ready for a HOUSEFULL of people. You all know what a procrastinator I am. I do have her gifts bought.

I know I owe many more replies.... but I have got to go.
Only 2 more weeks of my daughter being home.
I have got to buy my new computer Monday or Tuesday so she can get it set up for me.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
  • Hi All!

Just checking in quick. Went for my "training" today on how to take care of mom. The therapists at the hospital are just wonderful! I'm soooo impressed.

She still has alot of pain when she puts weight on the right leg so I'm bringing her home with a walker AND a wheelchair. I told her if she can get Medicare to pay for them, to get them while she can. She really does need them now to get around. I'm hoping that between the out-patient physical therapy and going back to our chiropractor that we can get her pain free and moving more independently.

I'm bringing her home for a couple of hours on Sunday and then they should discharge her on Monday morning.

It appears I will be playing taxi for awhile, but I want to get her back out to her social life as soon and as much as possible. It is what keeps her young! People can't believe she's 83. I'm so proud of her for how well she does.

Don't have time for much in the line of replies. Again, I'm sorry, but I will take time for just a couple and the rest of you all will have to forgive me for now.

Andria: WOW! Hot Dog!!! There's my happy dance for you, girlfriend! I'm sooooo excited for you. Good job!

Barbg: Hope you found those pins to be just what you expected and that they were waiting for you when you got home. Glad you had a safe trip. Nice job using the robbery as an excuse to do MORE shopping!

2cute: Make sure to give all my contact info to your daughter before she comes up here. I'm more than anxious to inherit a daughter! There are always restaurant shops and other stuff going on in Ann Arbor so I'm thinking we can surely make lunch occasionally. BTW, maybe she can give me some hints on selling books online. Does she do it on eBay? I just bought some really nice (as in never even been cracked open) books at a garage sale. I think they might even be leather bound (or simulated at least) with gold edges. I'd be interested in knowing how she prices them and stuff. If she's willing, maybe she could email me if she has time. I bought these for 50 cents. Also got some Nancy Drew's that I want to sell.

Debra: Glad you decided to come post with us. Also glad you've decided to try and make it a habit.

Anyway, time's up for me. It's after 1:00 AM and my bed is calling me. I'm a "showgirl" tomorrow. Also have to run up to the hospital and pick up some "equipment" for mom and visit with her for a minute. Then it will be back to the theatre for a late night. I hate when they schedule shows for Midnight because then I don't get out of there until 12:15- 12:30! We're counting for Bourne Supremacy again. Good movie!

Alright, I'm outta here. Love ya bunches!
  • Andria!

I'm off to ride Tanyah again this morning. Hopefully, I will remember the camera so I can finally post a pic of her.

    Toodles!
