  • I go to a yoga class and it's very relaxing and I enjoy it. I just started 3 weeks ago. I ordered the yoga zone tape because I saw it recommended but I haven't tried it yet.
Winsor pilates is a great workout too.
  • hello! thanks for the idea! if anybody has any other ideas for a yoga tape it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Crunch Candlelight Yoga with Sara Ivanhoe is a great yoga workout. Very relaxing. If you get it on DVD, you get a bonus 15 minute energizer workout.
  • thanks again! does anyone know how much these tapes usually cost?
if anyone else has a great yoga tape recomendation it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Go to www.gaiam.com and click on the Shop link. Any tape you get from Gaiam should be good, and they have a LOT to choose from. I think they are phasing out a lot of their older VHS stuff, so you can find some things on deep clearance. Also, just go to www.collagevideo.com and search for Yoga. You can read reviews, see clips of the videos, etc.
  • thanks!
  • I love the "Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss" by Gaiam.
There are four women on the tape in various levels of fitness so you can chose the one to mentor you as you progress. I must say you will definitely be sweating after this gentle and powerful workout. Since I'm over 50 it really serves to stretch and lengthen the muscles. I love the soothing music and beautiful setting. Go ahead and get yourself a yoga mat-it makes a real difference. Have fun. "Namaste".

  • Hi,

Be careful with some of the Gaiam tapes-they seem to label everything "beginner" and a lot of them are not suitable for beginners.

I highly recommend yoga zone's dvds-they give excellent instructions and modifications for those of us who are less flexible. I also second the suggestion for Sara Ivanhoe.

If you have a dvd player, definitely try Deep Discount DVD-they have the yoga zone dvd's really cheap-some for as little as seven dollars, and have free shipping. They have Sara Ivanhoe's dvd's also.

If you have Comcast Cable, in some areas on channel eight they show Yoga Zone's television show-you can check them out. They're also on the Wisdom Channel if you have the Dish network satellite.

  • Hey, if you have Directv's FIT channel (I don't know if it's carried on dish network or cable, but it might be) - they have a yoga show early in the morning and sometime in the day.
  • thanks!
