Heart in my throat

  • I am grossly obese, BMI around 50. Even when my BMI was in the 30's I always had a feeling of my heart in my throat when I did cardio. It honestly is one of the reasons I even stopped trying. I am a nurse, I know it is not palpitations, I know my heart rate will rise when with exercise. It is not that. I do feel that my heart and I often give up early because I feel as if I am choking. Does that make sense? I can't find out any info about this, so I trying to see if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks.
  • I would say that completely normal when you first start after a long break. Try doing some lighter exerciser first. Walking for exempel.
  • That is right. Your body is probably in shock during exercise so you should start with something light and after weeks, even a month or two, go with harder exercises. What exercises did you do?
