  • Follena: Could be that, easily. Also could just be a stall. I seem to a stall and whoosh loser. I'll stay the same weight-ish for a few days and then drop a pound or even more all at once (around 4 pounds is my biggest whoosh so far), and then stay the same for a bit and then drop a bunch. I don't call those plateaus, because they only last around a week, and can just be a normal losing pattern for some people. If that's the case, you are due for a whoosh.

    Newlyn: I have some chocolate every single day. But the thing I try to remember is that 95% of the enjoyment is in the first bite. So just a tiny piece of chocolate or a thin slice of cake is just about as pleasurable as a larger piece, with a lot less calories.

    Total Loss for Week Two:

    Yesterday was a weird day. My power was out at lunchtime, so no oven, no micro, no toaster. I had cold chicken and strawberries and a couple baby carrots and a slice of cheese. But then I went off plan for dinner last night, so I wasn't really surprised to see a small bump. I didn't go over on calories, but instead of protein and veggies, I was feeling really lazy and tired after my long work week, so I just had a bowl of Cheerios for dinner. Whatever. I only have to work 6 or 7 hour days for the next week or so, so I should be less tired and be able to get back on track starting today. I did go for a walk yesterday, which is just about the only exercise I've done this week, too (I did my strength training one day also). It hasn't been a great week for movement.

    Haha, Lacerta, how I wish it were just the first piece of chocolate that gave me pleasure!

    Well, I'm back down to my previous low, so I'm enjoying the scale today. I'm post-ovulation and have lost a lot of water so that probably explains it.
  • Newlyn: Congrats on being back to your low. Onward and downward from here.

    Total Loss for Week Two:

    Today was my first day back on my normal schedule all week, and it showed on the scale. Not only a new low, but I get to change my avatar to 65 pounds down. YAY!

    I also took my mid-month measurements today:
    My current measurements (to the nearest .25 inch) are:
    Neck: 14 -> 14
    Bicep: 14 -> 13.75
    Forearm: 11.25 -> 11.25
    Chest: 43 -> 42
    Waist: 38 -> 37.25
    Belly/Hips: 45.5 -> 44.5
    Thigh: 26.5 -> 26.5
    Calf: 17.25 -> 17.25

    So .25" off bicep, 1" off chest, .75" off Waist, 1" off belly, for a total so far of 3". Since it is difficult to measure exactly the same way every time, I do take the EXACT numbers with a grain of salt, and sometimes the next measurement will be back up instead of down because I pulled tighter last time, or measured in a slightly different spot or something, so the trend is the most important thing, but I do love seeing the chest, waist and belly numbers all being down this round. We'll see where they come in at the end of the month.

    So I seem to be sticking here for a bit but I can see exactly why. My calories have been higher than usual for the past few days and have pretty much exactly matched my calorie burn. While I'd rather lose, it's encouraging that I can trust what Fitbit and Chronometer are telling me.

    Congrats to Lacerta and Follena on breaking into new numbers!
  • Newlyn: Thanks. I'm glad you can see why you're maintaining. So often we get stuck for no reason. Its nice to actually see and understand the reason sometimes.

    sgregg: Fantastic loss last week.

    VickiLou: We're basically weight twins right now. Come on back to Onederland with me and then let's never see the 200s again.

    Follena: Congrats on moving into the 176s. You're averaging about a pound a week, so while it may seem slow while watching the number bounce around, that is actually a great pace.

    Nice whoosh to end Week 2. I was hoping to be into the 201s today, but wasn't expecting to skip most of the way through. Yay! So close to Onederland, but also now less than 10 pounds to move me into Overweight and only 11 pounds from the lowest I've ever lost to. Getting close to some big milestones.
  • Lacerta Thanks for the encouragement! Good Luck, Everyone!

  • gardenerjoy: Thank you!

    Lacerta: Thanks! And, I know, I know...lol. I usually don't fall off and on the wagon so quickly back-to-back. I'm hoping that I can keep myself in check a little more this month. Also, congrats on hitting new lows and 65 lbs down!!

    Follena: Thank you!

    SnowMama: I probably won't have much time to post, but I hope to at least do a little catching up on my weekends like I am today! We will see how well I'm able to keep that up in the coming months, lol.

    boatingmommy: I hope you're feeling better!

    Newlyn: I've been stuck in an up-down/stall/up-down pattern of the same 10-15 lbs for the better part of a year, so I feel you...hope you get some movement soon, especially since you can pinpoint the reasons this week!

    --------------------------

    Checking in at the end of the week now that it's my weekend. It's been rough getting my schedule switched around and is something I'm still working on. I've also been sick all week, which definitely isn't helping. Needless to say, I am TIRED ...lol. Speaking of which, my weigh-in of 173.0 today will almost certainly pop back up some tomorrow because I slept through my alarm by a good 4 hours, so I weighed in very late. I'm trying to keep a partial overnights schedule on my days off too so I don't have to keep switching back as much for the work week but am still able to see my family a little, but it's still a little rocky. I assume balancing the routine will become easier as time goes along. That said, classes started back up today, so I am using my alone time on my off days overnights to get in as much school work as possible to get a head start on it for the week. We'll see how everything goes...lol.

    As for health and weight loss stuff...obviously, a 9.4 lb loss is definitely not indicative of a normal week, but it's still nice to see that holiday visitation bloat coming back off quickly. I think it's because the new job I'm working is very physical work, so it's like being at the gym most of the day, lol. At the very least, it's certainly made it a lot easier to surpass my step goals every day. Between that and being too busy to overeat on my work days, it's made it fairly automatic to stay on-plan. It will be my water intake and my weekends I will have to watch out for, I think....because I definitely don't feel like moving a muscle today or tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Congrats on smashing the 201s Lacerta!

    9.4lbs Ophelia! Even though it's not a regular weekly loss it's still spectacular!

    So this morning I weighed in at 262.5 again and it seemed a bit off, jumping around, so I weighed again with something heavy and then tried again: 262!
    I hope it sticks (or falls again obviously!) because this is 10% of my starting weight lost!
