  • kfunk: Awww, that's so nice of you to offer -- thank you! As long as you're absolutely sure you wouldn't be picking it back up anytime soon, I'd take it! I'll pay the shipping on it too, since you'd be going through the trouble of sending it. Let me know, and I will PM you the address. Maybe if I can get into it and get a routine going, and you want to try it again sometime, I can send it back to you...lol. Like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but with books. And, hope you're able to pick up some momentum now that the celebrations are pretty much over until Christmas! You got this.

    --------------------------------------

Hmm...two consecutive bump up days, which isn't super common when I'm on-plan and not on TOM. Weigh-in was 218.2 today. I know it's not much, but still a little frustrating after doing so well for a few days. Maybe my body is playing catch-up? Oh well, I will keep chugging along, knowing that it will start to drop again soon. Maybe even tomorrow! Hope everyone is having a good day.

  • I had trouble sticking with my eating plan the last few days... determined to get back on track today and see if I can lose 3-4 pounds over the next two weeks before Christmas vacation starts.

GardnerJoy: Thanks for coordinating these challenges - it's really helpful to have the accountability of daily weigh-ins.
Ophelia: I enjoy reading your posts - you're doing great!
Darius: I'm in western NC, too - we have about 8 inches of snow now and it's still coming down this morning.

  • darius & gail28: You guys stay warm over there in all that snow! It's been as low as 26° here this week -- which is pretty cold for southern Arizona! -- and, I am already starting to freak out about that, even without any snow to worry about...haha.

    --------------------------------------

Still up from where I was, but at least inching back in the right direction...weigh-in was back to 218.0 today. Going to keep moving forward on-plan and hope for a whoosh soon!

  • kfunk and opheliaphoenix: so cool that you can make sure that book gets used. I sent an exercise book to a virtual stranger once and it was so satisfying. If I'm not going to use it, someone ought to!

gail28: I've found the last few days challenging, too. Good for you for getting back on track -- I'm going to follow your example.

darius and gail28: stay safe in all that snow. I hope you can find some time to enjoy it, too.

gail I am sorry that you had been struggling, I can relate! It is great that you turned it around so quickly though. You are having a great start to your month even with the couple days off track. I hope that you will be able to get under 200 very soon, you are so close!!

    darius great job last week!!

joy I agree, I would much rather see it being used than just collecting dust at my house!!

I unexpectedly went out to breakfast yesterday and brought half home for later. The past couple days I have been feeling like a binge is coming. I was able to avoid it on Friday night and yesterday I felt it again. I ate my leftovers by 3 and then let myself eat a chocolate chip cookie. It didn't lead to a binge and I felt full after that and was able to skip dinner. I feel like I am teetering so close to the edge lately.
  • gail28: Nice loss and great work getting back on track!

gardenerjoy: It was very sweet of her, I agree! And, it's awesome that you have done it, as well. I will definitely be paying the gesture forward.

kfunk: Thank you, and I will send you a PM right now! Also, I feel like I am struggling with extra hunger the past couple of days, as well...I wonder if its the changing weather making us want to chow down and hibernate like other mammals? Certainly what it feels like, lol. Stay strong! You're doing great avoiding a binge -- I know how hard that is. You've got this!

    --------------------------------------

Yeah, I don't know what's up. I was on-plan yesterday, even on the water for the first time in awhile, and did 5 miles during my evening walk to try to break through to a whoosh, and nope...weigh-in was back up to 218.4 today. This is Day 4 of my unexplained gains...plus, I've been feeling extra hungry and am even breaking out, so you'd think I was on my TOM, but that's still about a week and a half away. I'm still going to keep at it and not going to let this deter me, but starting to get frustrated with the scale...lol. Then again, that's the rub with daily weighing...gotta try to take the weird cycles in stride as you watch your patterns. Fingers crossed for a better reading tomorrow!

Thank you very much ophelia, kfunk, gardnerjoy.
I hope everyone has a good coming week.
Today is an NSV for me - it is my 15th anniversary since I stopped smoking on Dec 10th, 2002.
  • darius: congrats on being a non-smoker for 15 years! That's a great accomplishment.

  • ophelia You are very welcome! I will bring it to work with me tomorrow and send it out on my lunch!! I hope that our bodies adapt, because it will be a long winter if we are in hibernation mode lol!! I did find a silver lining... I had worried about being able to successfully maintain, but now I know that I can with ease!! Yesterday I had my morning coffee and then I had a double quarter pounder meal with extra fries. I ate so late in the day that is all I ended up eating all day and even though the total calories were under what I would normally eat, I still went up, sodium maybe? I am sure that you are going to have one h*ll of a whoosh, keep on chugging!!!

    darius Congratulations, that is amazing!!

kfunk: I hope we can adapt soon, too! I'd rather not regain the physique of a hibernating bear by the time winter ends, haha.

Finally starting to move down a little...weigh-in was 217.6 today. It's still higher than where I was almost a week ago, but I'm hoping this is the start of another downward trend.

Busy weekend, hope everyone is doing well.

Darius congrats on your nsv, quitting smoking is a great thing, congrats on seeing a different first number on the scale and congrats on the snow we are getting a little here in northeast PA, not even and inch tho!
