  • Good morning,

I think I woke up to a head cold, we shall see as the day goes by. I am heading into work today, nothing on the agenda this evening.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Pouring rain and we are heading out in two cars to get them undercoated for the winter. Not really looking forward to a morning sitting in a waitingroom with my book - fine for Bruce who can chat up the lads about motorcycles and sports cars but ... I can plan some menues for the next few busy weeks, including quickie pot-luck meals to take with me to the five events (so far!) next month.

The good news is that I am finally down a pound! Let's hope it continues.

Have a happy Tuesday - wet or dry!
  • Good Morning,

I wake up super hungry this morning. I prep breakfast and lunches for the boys and now I am sitting down to enjoy my breakfast and a warm cup of coffee. DS2 have Be The Change club this morning and in the afternoon both of the boy have after school clubs. I don't have to pick them up until 6pm, so today is a great day for running errands and maybe if i have time a much needed pedicure.

On Sunday we bought Halloween candy and yesterday, I was so tempted to open the bags to eat the chocolate bars but didn't do it. I had to keep myself busy to not keep thinking on those evil sweets.

Lately, I been noticing that most of my joints pop or make a crack sound when I move or stretch. I don't have pain when the joint pops, but it feels weird. This has always happened to my knees but never to my other joints. I read that this could be a symptom of MS, I do have other symptoms that also points to MS. I better stop googling symptoms and find a rheumatologist and see what is going on with all of this before I get crazy

Beth- so happy for you to make exercise a priority. Stay warm.

Rose- I hope is not a head cold, take care.

    Have a great day!
  • Good Morning Ruth!

Don't you hate going out on rainy days? All I want to do is stay home and work on my crafts

Bruce sounds just like my husband, he can chat for hours. Good luck menu planning and yay for the scale!
  • Good morning! Just a quick check in before we head to the pool. A nice drive over yesterday and it's sunny but chilly here this morning. I've been puttering around a little bit getting a few things accomplished. I have not stayed here for any length of time for so long that I forget what I have and don't have. LOL. A stray from the food plan last night but back to business today. I already had a smoothie made which I brought over with me. That's great it saved hauling all the vegetables for one day. Have a great day everyone!

Rose, I sure hope you're not getting a cold. Mine has finally gone away. I think goodness!
  • Good afternoon, chicks.

I'm still working at "eating from the freezer" so tonight DH will have beachy chicken parm and I will stick with eggplant. I have some leftover marinara (which was also frozen) so it will be easy. Italian restaurants are hard but I can cook Italian OP.

Ruth, I thought it was going to rain all day but we ended up with quite a bit of sun. The last of the leaves look so beautiful today! Hope the car work didn't take too long.

Debbie, I can't travel anywhere without toting along a bunch of OP snacks. Hope your day was productive.

Isa, my sister was just talking to me about "internet self-diagnosing" and saying she should probably call the doctor. This may be one of those times when a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Pearlrose, hope you aren't getting sick! So far I have been pretty healthy this school year; trying to keep it that way.

    Have a good evening, all.
  • Yesterday got away from me and today almost did too.

Pearlrose hopefully your cold leaves quickly. You had one not too long ago.
Isa I too have relied on Dr Internet to make me crazy lol. A visit to the dr sounds like a good idea.
Debbie hope you enjoyed the pool
Ruth great job losing a pound. The first one always seems to be the hardest.
Beth I am freezer eating this week too.

This week is proving to be a crazy week. I am leaving Thursday to drive to Ft Benning. Taking DS his car. I hope to reach WV / VA Thursday evening. Friday I will end my day in Concord NC to see the folks new home. Saturday I will finish the ride and be there in time for lunch with DS. I will spend Sunday with him and fly home on Monday. I booked a hotel on the base and will utilize the authorized airport shuttle to get to Atlanta. John is going to pick me up (thank goodness). Then right back to work Tuesday morning. Eating OP is an absolute necessity this week. LOL otherwise nothing else new or exciting here.

Time for some veggies and hummus. Have a great night.
  • Morning chicks! Woke up early (4:30) to use the bathroom and didn't really go back to sleep. I am going to be tired this afternoon!

Weight is stuck this month, including the pound I put back on after meeting my September goal. I am going to see if I can at least end the month down that pound but I won't meet my goal of losing more.

Regular day today; school and my robotics kids afterwards. I don't know if I will get a walk in or not but this might be my day off for the week.

Jennifer, your trip sounds busy but I am sure it will be good to visit family.

Have a great day, chicks! Happy Peak of the Week!
  • Good peak of the week morning. Yesterday's rain was a gutter buster but we did end up with a pleasant and sunny afternoon. Today is lovely too and Bruce is off with a friend doing bread deliveries of all things. His friend Carl is retired but still does deliveries for his bakery now run by his daughter. B. loves to tag along once in a while, probably because he likes to drive the truck. They talk the whole way through Eastern Ontario and get back mid- afternoon.

Weight is still holding and I have a light supper planned as I have the Fair Board Annual General Meeting tonight - refreshments, of course, which I shall try hard to avoid. There's another food event tomorrow night with book club at Joanne's place. **Sigh** I've opted out of today's pot luck meeting since Bruce is away but will send in my casserole in case it's needed. (I also have a young friend coming this afternoon to pick up my almost new Elna sewing machine that has been sitting unused for five years since I now use only my super now one!)

Have a great peak of the week day!
  • Good morning chicks,

Finally we are getting some cold to us Floridians weather 60F and the highest will be 79F, yay! Today I need to buy a pair of black dressy shoes for DS2 play, the pair he has don't fit him any more. This boys are growing so fast, I feel like I have to buy them clothes every other month.

DH bought pizza for him and the boys this past Sunday. We had left overs from DH's pizza and the boys didn't like it so I decided to eat it yesterday for lunch (I hate throwing food out) that was a bad idea, my stomach was hurting and bloated all day This morning I throw away the other two slices that were left and back on OP.

    Happy Wednesday everyone!
  • Good morning,

Yesterday was a busy day at work, but somehow in the afternoon felt normal no cold symptoms at all, so of course I went and got my Flu shot (it's mandatory for work) I did ask the nurse if it was okay to do and she said yes as long as I wasn't running a fever. Feel fine this morning when I woke up other than a sore arm from the shot. The scale has moved down another lb, I feel like I finally have the rhythm down and hopefully will continue downward trend. Today I do have to a grocery run maybe at lunch (wfh) and tonight may run DD2 to get her flu shot and she needs a wig for her Halloween costume. Did I mention the high yesterday was only 50 degrees, I had to turn the furnace on at home when I got home yesterday, it was too chilly in the house and was dropping into the 30s at night. The first turn on of the furnace is horrible as it burns all the dust in the vents had to spray air freshener and burn some candles.

Jekel sounds like a busy weekend but should be fun visiting family

Beth I can make some items that are Italian on plan but haven't figured out too much in that area

Isa I normally wake up hungry as I try not to eat anything after early dinner

Ruth great news on losing the 1st lb that is the hardest one

Debbie enjoy your time over in Glenwood

    Have a great day everyone
  • Good morning,

Getting ready to head into work, have meetings in the morning and a class all afternoon. Nothing on the agenda this evening for me, DH and DD2 are going to see Marvels Universe live tonight.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Good morning,

I was super tired last night and went to bed earlier. I wake up with a massive headache this morning and I still feel very tired. I tried to make an appointment with a rheumatologist but the earliest they can see me is in March. They suggested me to have my GP run some blood test to determine if what I have is arthritis and what type. Now, I am waiting for my GP office to call me back their system was down.

I have no plans for today, DS2 has rehearsal after school until 6pm. Today is also supposed to be a little chilly here so I will open the windows and enjoy the weather.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hello! It is still morning here. lol. It's been a busy one. We are back from Glenwood and I've been doing paperwork all morning while DH cleaned the house. His DD is coming in tonight from SFO. I had a kombucha earlier but it's time for a smoothie and a break. Once DD gets here it's non stop. She has a large service dog so the house is always crazy. Perhaps I'll just skip smoothie and make lunch and sit and watch the news. It's pretty nice right now but we're supposed to get a cool off and some snow later.

Rose, hope your evening home is quiet.

Isa, typical of specialists.....March seems a little extreme. Enjoy your cooler weather and I hope you start feeling better.

    OK, off to make lunch.
  • Hey chicks!

My days are always busy right now but I felt like I was really productive today, so that's good. Next week is the end of our first marking period; I can't believe it's that time already!

Saw the scale move down today so I am basically back to my September goal but I don't think I will be anywhere near my October goal. I would really like to keep moving the scale down before the holidays hit. I need to stay focused!

Isa, sorry to hear you are feeling poorly but perhaps your GP can help.

Debbie, sounds like you made some progress on the paperwork. Enjoy the visit with DD.

Jennifer, hope you are having safe travels!

Off to make dinner. Have a great evening, chicks.
