Help to loose 42Lb

  • Hi,

Im on my weigh loss journey yet again, but i need to take control back.

I dont react well to carbs so the Atkins was a god send a few years ago, but i have put it all back on.

Im looking for a support chick to help me through every day and remind me that i can do it, my target is Christmas.

    Good luck

    xx
  • I am the same as far as carbs go, so we are on the same journey. My target is also at Chrismas. And I have about 32 pounds to lose. It's a match! I am not in UK though!
  • My goal is also Yule Tidings and I need to lose 40!! I'd love a Facebook person to message back and forth with. That way it doesn't matter if your in the UK China USA or Canada. Private message me.
  • Wow. 42 pounds in 102 days. Let's assume you lose 7 pounds the first week by going low carb (water mostly). That would put you at 35 pounds in 95 days. That is maintaining a 2.6 pound per week loss rate. 35 pounds x 3500 calories to burn is 122500 calories. 122500 calorie in 95 days requires a 1290 deficit per day. A 4'11" female TDEE isn't much. You can't diet your way to your goal if you plan to eat at all. Do you have an aggressive exercise program planned? One that you plan to increase as you get closer to your goal because your TDEE will decrease as your weight decreases?

I hate to be a party pooper, but perhaps a more realistic goal would set you on a good path to prevent regaining it all back.
  • HEY! So I also have a xmas target of 266 (I am 291) so I have 25lbs to lose which is may not sound huge, but I have been losing 1lb a week this whole year so far and I want to try and lose a little extra before the year is out.

I don't usually eat that much starchy carbs, I cannot eat pasta at all (I will instantly gain) I eat rice and wholemeal bread but that is it. I do not mind adding people on social media for accountability. I work from home just now so I can be a pretty good buddy to have
  • Night owl is correct in saying that it is obviously ambitious and probably not feasible to lose 42 pounds in 102 days. However, 146- 108 is 38, not 42, so there's 4 pounds right there.
102 days is approximately 15 weeks. I think that it is possible, although not easy, to lose 2 pounds per week through very low carb and low calorie eating (say 900 calories a day) plus moderate exercise. So with a really serious regimen, I can see a 30 pound loss, but not a 40 pounds loss.
More importantly, why expect yourself to do the impossible? A good solid 20 pounds loss would be wonderful.
  • Good luck OP. The title is 42 pounds to lose. Perhaps a typo? Either way - Don't set your self up for failure and also don't starve yourself. Success is such a confidence booster that even little steps may keep you going. Us shorties are at a disadvantage as calorie reduction can only go so low and the closer you get to your goal, the less your body requires.
  • I have 28lb to go you can reach your target I done 140lb in 12 months work hard you'll reach it maybe not before Xmas though that quite soon I'd suggest u cut out cars altogether or sick to just 20 g a day no more than that if u need any more advise get in touch
  • I started with a goal to lose 30 lbs. I wanted to lose as much as i could before i go on holiday in december! i started my weightless journey 2 weeks ago and have already lost 10lbs! i know some of this must be water weight but I'm amazed! I started going to the gym 3 times a week and cut back on carbs big time. I've also started drinking a tea that my sister and friend recommended called DETOX-T in the morning and night which has really helped with my cravings!! i have a real sweet tooth and love this tea! Anyway, your weightless goals sound awesome and i wish you all the bets of luck and can't wait to see how you all get on!
