  • Hi all!

Renee - Hold on - you know you can do this, so if you need to stay steady for a bit, then plow on again, maybe that is what you need to do. If you are not gaining, that is good, but even if you are gaining some, try to figure out what you are doing that is so different from when you were losing so well and see if you can get back on track
This happens to all of us at some point - I know it can be so frustrating

Last weighed Friday morning and was down .8 to 148.2.

My daughter has been pregnant, but it is not her baby - she is a surrogate for a couple from France (surrogacy is illegal there). The parents were booked to fly over at the beginning of December, as she was book for a c-section for Dec. 8. However, that little boy had different plans and her water broke early Friday morning, and he was born 27 looong hours later - she managed a natural childbirth even though she had a c-section with her own daughter!!
I am so proud of her for giving this beautiful gift to this couple for nothing but the joy of seeing them with their baby (it is illegal in Canada to get paid for surrogacy). The mother managed to find a flight and arrived about 12 hours after the baby was born, and the father will come as soon as he gets some business ends tied up and can find a flight.
Baby is healthy and beautiful, and my daughter is doing great and is beautiful too!!

I was part of her labour team, along with two of her friends, and we ate fast food, and didn't get much water, and no sleep.
I am feeling the effects of the last 3 days - my fingers are so puffy I can't make a fist - but things have settled down now, and I will drink my water, cook my own food, and I am hopefully I will lose all this swelling. It is strange how not drinking enough water swells you up - you would think it would be the opposite!

I will be focusing on getting back on plan this week, and hope everyone else has a great and positive week!!
  • Jude, what a lovely thing for your daughter to do. Just awesome!
  • Congratulations Jude - you raised a lovely, generous daughter!!

Hang in there Renee - it's a tough time of year.

Been kinda down in the dumps and didn't weigh-in this past Saturday.

    Have a good week folks.
  • Happy Thanksgiving everyone - enjoy your day!!
    (we had ours last month)

  • Have a good day everyone!
  • No change for me....

    Have a great week everyone!

  • Happy Monday everyone, and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I cooked for about 25 people and finally have gotten the house back together, but it was a lot of fun!

My weight is up to 176.5, but I actually thought it would be a bit higher with all the rich desserts and such. I'm on a mission to get under 170 lbs before Christmas, and what a great start that will be for the new year!

I've sent home all the leftover fattening stuff with my kids and DBF so they won't be around to tempt me...also made a huge pot of turkey soup so there's something healthy to eat when I NEED to eat. Hopefully the stress of the preparations is gone so I can be in control again.

I've been reading posts all along, and this group is an inspiration to me. Hi to everyone, and I hope we are ALL back on track this week!

  • Hi All!

Andi Great to hear from you again and to know you weathered the holiday ok - I will be rooting for you to make that Christmas goal!

AAD - Yay - you continue to see steady losses

I have been having a crazy time here - between baby coming early, the parents coming from France, renovating the bathroom and work, my eating plan has gone out the window.
I did weigh on Saturday and was up 4 lbs - I am trying to get back on plan this week and I refuse to give up. I feel so much better physically and mentally when I eat healthy wholesome foods.

Hoping for a good week for everyone!!
  • Hi all,

Jude, those extra pounds might be from water gain from foods high in sodium, which pretty much describes most T-day foods! I'm sure they'll melt off quickly. How is the baby and parents situation going?

I'm noticing a bad problem with cravings every day at about 4:30 when I get off work. Seems I'm starving and can't help eating all kinds of unhealthy foods at that time until I'm stuffed. Wonder if it's just a result of the end of a stressful work day or what the heck is happening. I'm going to try every trick not to let this happen today...drinking water or tea, or maybe eat a healthy protein snack before the muchies start. Anyone else have this?

    Have a great day everyone!

  • Again, no change for me.....really hard time of the year to lose any weight....too many parties and baking cookies.

    Have a wonderful week everyone!
  • In order to avoid the 5pm binge-fest I plan on havign a healthy before dinner snack. An apple or an orange. A carrot or some tomatoes and a hot cup of coffee. When I plan to have these foods and psych myself up to enjoying them I prevent a binge.

  • Hi Ladies!

I'm back home and on-line once again. Had a great vacation visiting with several relatives in the U.S.A. I have missed them all so much.

I just read the posts that were made while I was gone to find out how you all were doing. Glad to see that you all were supporting each other.

As for me, my daily exercising ceased while I was away, and my meal choices were not as restrictive, so I know I have gained some weight. I'm not ready to weigh-in here just yet. Perhaps in a few days I will be brave enough to face the scale and get motivated to get myself back into my daily home routine. Still adjusting to time differences and jet lag at this point.

Glad to be back with the group!
