I ended up doing W8D3 last night, but since I average a 15-minute mile I figured I'd only worry about the time, not the distance. But as I was approaching the finish, I decided to keep pushing myself until I actually did the 5k! It took me about 45 minutes, but I got through it in one piece!
And now that the 8 weeks are up, for the time being I think I'll concentrate on doing a 30 minute run every other night. When I'm ready to commit more time I may start working toward the 10k with the next app.
Several years ago vs. last night . . . I've come so far, nothing's gonna stop me now!
