When did you really start seeing results?

  • I am on Induction and Friday was 2 weeks. I've decided to stay on it for another week and see what happens. I've lost 6 pounds total, but am fighting with those last two pounds the past few days. I've also lost 4 inches. I think I'm doing ok, but am a little frustrated with the pace of things. I don't really feel much different yet.

The ketone strips are wavering between small and moderate. I have been really careful about what I've been eating. Last night is the first night I may have had too much. No restricted foods, just maybe more of the stuff I'm allowed to have.
  • I just started the keto diet yesterday! are you drinking lots of water? and using the 65/30/5 ratio of fats/proteins/carbs? What carbs have you been consuming? You should start at less than 20 carbs a day to kick your body into full ketosis. try to eat JUST bacon/eggs/cheese/grilled chicken for two days and see if that gets rid of those last two pounds.
  • The majority of my results came the first and second week. By the third week I slowed and now I am starting the fourth week all induction. Drink lots of water, use the strips at the same time everyday and realize they don't work for everyone. Keep your carbs at 20 or less, and have 12-15 of them come from greens.
  • Depends what you mean by "results". You have only 10 more pounds to lose? Induction is just that, being inducted into transitioning to low carb as it's supposed to be a permanent change. It's not something to go on and off of. That's not fair to your body.

But you've already seen results so that's good. As far as what I identify as results -- meaning that I could SEE it -- was about 25 pounds in when I realized my chest and my legs were smaller. So clearly, I was REALIZING results from eating this way as I am right now tho I'm not SEEING it right now.
  • my real goal is 169, I put little goals to keep myself motivated.

I am gonna stick with this for at least this week and see what happens. Thanks everyone!

I'd like to see a little more off before I go to the next step.
  • From what I've seen, on Atkins or pretty much any other diet, people usually lose about a pound a week. More, if they are very heavy (like over 250 pounds) and less, if they are lighter (175 and less) or older, or women, or not very active.

People who diet-jump looking for the "magic" solution that will get weight off faster don't usually do well long-term.

My advice is to pick a plan that you find easy to live with and follow it for a long time - well beyond the initial quick-loss phase (for me, low carb fits the bill because I like the foods and love the decreased hunger).
  • My first month was a bust.. NO idea why , I have done this WOL before..
