  • A Lazyman Marathon is a full marathon (26.2 miles/42.2 km) but instead of taking a few hours you have a whole month to complete it. You can walk, run, skip, or jump the distance but you must use you feet. Biking doesn't count however. You may break up the total distance anyway you want: walk a mile every day for 26 of the days, run a couple miles every few days, cram the last week, however you want to do it. And feel free to go over if you find this to be easier than expected. I'll keep track of everyone's distances here, but if you put your total in your posts as you go, that's super helpful.

When you reach 25% (~6.5mi/10.46km) of your goal I will highlight you in Red
When you reach 50% (~13mi/20.92km) of your goal I will highlight you in Orange
When you reach 75% (~19.6/31.54km) of your goal I will highlight you in Pink
When you complete your first marathon I will highlight you in Green
I will highlight you in Blue for over one marathon, but under two.
I will highlight you in Purple for completing your second marathon.

  • Do we just let you know if we want to join in?? I am very interested!!
  • I will join this month. One question, I walk outside, plus I walk on my treadmill (when the weather is bad), plus I walk/jog on my elliptical. Does all of that count? Or just the outside walking? Or just the outside walking and the treadmill? I want to make sure I'm counting properly. Thanks!
  • Inside or outside counts. Some of us include the elliptical as well, some of us don't. Your fitness goals, your rules!
  • Count me in!
  • I'm just trying to get back into running so I think this is the perfect challenge for me. I'm going to be running on a track that I think is 200m so everything will be estimated and my walk to the track won't be included as I don't know the distance. I'm hoping to get my smart phone replaced soon so I'll have apps to track this stuff again
  • ok im in !
  • I am in.

    And thank you Ashley !!!
  • Yay! I may have to make my goal to be 2 during the month. Fun!

  • I am in it again! Goal 35 miles for the month tho! I enjoyed this.. Thank you!!
  • Quote: Inside or outside counts. Some of us include the elliptical as well, some of us don't. Your fitness goals, your rules!
Thanks, Aclai! Well, if it is to be my rules, then I will only count outside walking and my goal will be to do the marathon twice this month. I want some motivation to get outside. I don't need motivating in the summer, but when the cooler weather hits I need a bit of a kick up the rear. This challenge ought to do that!
  • I am in again this month. I will succeed eventually. (I have MS, so any walking I do is a blessing!) Thank you for the challenge.
  • I'd like to join, thanks!
  • I'm on board too! I'm still going to do my biking, this will just be an extra.

Edit: I've started a couch to 5K program, every other day.

    October 1: 2.06 miles
    October 3: 2.02 miles
October 4: Not going to count elliptical miles so zero!
    October 5: 3.04 miles
