Job=weight gain?

  • So I just started working for the first time in four years. It's an active job where I'm on my feet all day. And I'm STARVING!!!! I haven't been able to stick to 1200 calories since I started on Saturday. I'm also "up" four pounds since Sunday. I know it's not true weight gain because I haven't eaten an extra 14000 calories, but it is disheartening to see the scale go up...

    Deep breath, this is only temporary, right???
  • Think of how many calories you're burning with all that extra movement!

    Your body will settle down before long.

    Do you feel comfortable increasing your calorie allotment a bit, maybe with a snack or two, since you are moving around so much more? I wonder if that would help your body adjust weight-wise and hunger-wise.
  • Congrats on the new job. I'm thinking it will settle down especially if your being more actve.
  • I would try to throw in a snack as well. Maybe you ate some sodium-rich foods this week and it caused you to retain water.
  • I ate an extra snack today (nuts) and I feel less ravenous. I'll give it a week or two for my body to adjust
