Do you have goal measurements?

  • Most of us have goal weights but do you also have goal measurements? My current measurements are 38/33/43.5, my goal measurements are 38/30/40.5.

I want to be toned but still have a feminine hourglass shape. As I work on toning I can see what my body will look like after this lump and that bump go away.
  • Yes, and for me my goal measurements are more important than my scale one!

    I started off at 43-33-47.5
    I'm currently 39.5-29.5-42.75
    Goal 39-29-41

I'm always going to have a massive pear shape and I'm starting to accept that fact. I've also accepted the fact that my boobs will never be as full as they used to be.
  • Yes. I even have an inch ticker, showing total inches (see below), which is the sum of chest + waist + belly + hips + 2 x (upper arms + thighs + calves). I track the changes every few weeks. A number of years back, I was at 125 (my goal weight) and I know my measurements from back then...which is how I set my goal measurements.

    Considering just the primary ones:
    Starting: 39.0-37.5-43.5
    Current: 37.0-30.0-39.0
    Goal/Prior: 34.0-26.0-36.0

Now, it is not my "goal" (as in my "desire") to have a 34" chest...but I just know that's going to happen when I lose weight. Not only will I be a 34, but I'll be a "A" cup ...guaranteed. The only way around that is to either not lose weight or get pregnant (and at 55, the latter is not likely!).

Edited to add: Oops. I just noticed that this thread is in the "30-Somethings" forum. I'm clearly not in my 30's, but hopefully you don't mind my responding!
  • I want hips between 35" - 36". Currently I am 47". Have some way to go. Lol. My hips and thighs are the places that I mostly gain weight. I love my body ratio so as long as I get my hips in check I am all good.
  • I hadn't really thought about goal measurements, I guess because I can't imagine what they should be. For me its goal weight and goal dress size. I want to be a comfortable size 14, knowing I can go in to any shop and purchase that size. Coming from someone that was 24/26, the idea of 14 seems ideal.
