Sort of a newbie here!

  • Hello Everyone! I am kind of a newbie to 3FCs! The last time I posted was in 2009 and 2 babies later....I am back!!! This website is what helped me to lose my weight the first time so I have decided to come back and get started. Their are so much diet info out there that I am not sure what is best for me. I am going to attempt to eat clean and count calories. I hate counting calories but I feel like it keeps me in check with what I am taking in. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Chat with you all soon!
  • Welcome back! And congrats on the kiddos. I tend to eat the same basic meals every day, so I don't have to count calories all of the time. What do you plan on doing for exercise? I know that chasing after 2 kids probably wears you out. I bike to work and try to lift every other day. Luckily, I only have one child and she is a very solid sleeper. So, I exercise mostly when she's already in bed!
  • Welcome back!!! I love how supportive this place is and it's great to hear it helped you the first time so I bet it's going to help you just as much this time around It takes some experimenting but you eventually find the right fit for your lifestyle that gives you the results you want - with the kiddos it would probably be easiest to do something that has simple healthy eating and portion control without eliminating anything so they can see how you're eating too since you know they'll mimic mom
  • Thanks for the warm welcomes! Right now, I do a little running, walking, turbo fire or whatevery I am in the mood to do. I love running but it is a little hard on feet.
  • hi, melissa! i am "new" here, too, and didn't feel like making my own thread, so i thought i'd add to yours.. i, too, used this website years ago to help me reach my goal. and now i am back again, ONE kid later! haha. i'm keeping my original tracker just as a reminder that i have lost weight in the past and it IS doable.

my issue is exercise. i teach and during the school year i just can't find the time to do it. i have about a month and a half until school starts again, and i really want to set new habits in my life. daily exercise is a MUST.

look forward to getting to know you all on this journey.
  • Hi there - I'm in the same boat, pretty much. I was last on here in 2010, and found success losing 45 lbs after the birth of my son. Since then, I've had another child in 2011 and I'm ballooned back up. I am away at work about 10 hours a day, and the rest are devoted to taking care of the kids in what little time I have left. I have the most awful time getting up and moving in the morning and I need to make time to exercise, but it is SO HARD with these kids. I don't want them in daycare anymore than they already are.

I hate to even admit that I'm at 212 lbs right now. I'm completely embarassed and my self esteem is in the toilet. I could definitely use some buds on here to motivate and share secrets.

I lost the weight in 2010 by counting calories and exercising with DVD's in home. It's so much harder now that the kids are older. I don't know what to even do. I'm like you...I HATE counting calories, but nothing else really works.
  • Hey, everyone! I am totally new to this site. I am 66 and retired and living in Florida with my husband and 3 labs. My husband and I started the Ideal Protein diet almost 8 weeks ago after being inspired by a visit from our daughter and her husband from Connecticut. They had been on the IP diet about 6 weeks and my son in law had lost about 60 pounds. He is now on Phase 4, so basically off the diet, after losing 86 pounds in 4 1/2 months.
We didn't expect our weight loss to be anything like his, but if we can lose 2 pounds a week each, we're very happy. We are losing inches, but everyone is completely at a loss as to why we are not losing. We do NOT cheat! We go by the IP guidelines. I am very depressed. Weigh-in is tomorrow, and my scales show I have lost .2 of a pound. My husband is down about 2 1/2 pounds. Driving me crazy as to what to do!
