Question for a Coach

  • I've noticed on my reports that I am under what Medifast says should be the daily intake:

"The Medifast 5 & 1 Plan provides approximately 800 to 1,000 calories per day and 80-100 grams of carbohydrates, depending on your personal selections"

I am usually no more than 750 calories and like 50-60 carbs a day. I would think with lower numbers like that I'd be putting up bigger numbers of weight loss.

But, is it possible that it's slowing my weight loss? Should I be adding another Medifast bar to get closer to 1000 calories? My daily calorie deficit is always pretty high like 1500 something. And everyone says that a deficit of 500 a day is one pound loss a week.

I'm not hungry or starving, drinking all my water too. But I usually just have five bars a day (at 110) and then a cup of Egg Beaters at night for my LG.

    Any advice? I don't have a coach.
  • I've only been on medifast for just over a month, but I'd say you are not eating enough. Sounds like You need vegetables! I have an awesome coach, pm me if you're interested and I could pass her info to you good luck!
  • I am not a coach, but are you having veggies in your L&G? You need 3 servings a day and Eggbeaters also require 2 healthy fat servings. Also, for a lean the serving is TWO cups of eggbeaters, so if you are only eating one cup you are shorting yourself by half a Lean.
  • Are you doing a vegetarian plan? If not I would really incorporate some lean means into your lean and green...you will get a good deal of protein and its just good to have variety...and yeah you need your veggies too. Also any reason why you are only eating the bars? It seems like that would get boring. There are a lot of great recipes out there for use with the medifast foods that make them a lot better than they are just out of the box.

34 pounds is a good weight loss though...I started Feb 7 and have lost 24.6 and I lose about 3 pounds a week so it seems like you are on the same track as me about.
  • I think a coach is fantastic to have. Mine is Jennifer Crowe Ivey and she's been such an inspiration and support. Think about having a coach...doesn't cost you a dime.
