Help calculating calories

  • Hi,

I am not great with numbers. I am using the LoseIt! app and they have a feature where they can tell you the number of calories you need to lose x number of pounds per week but there is an option to add in calories. I'm not sure what my levels should be so I don't want to add in too many.

    The details are

I am 5'3" and weigh 152 pounds. My goal weight is 135. I exercise daily for about a half hour (30 Day Shred). I use the Nike Fuel Band and it seems that I walk about 2 miles each day.

Please help me figure out the number of calories I should be eating to meet my goal weight.

    Thanks,
ImImportant (but not good at math)
  • I can't help you figure out how many calories you should eat each day, but there are calorie requirement calculators online. Here's a link to one I just randomly chose so don't take this as gospel: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

One thing to consider is that you've done a wonderful job of losing so far. If you've been tracking what you eat, then figure out what seems to be working for you. Enter several days worth of data from your dieting plan and see what the app says you are intaking in terms of calories.

Hope that helps some. Every person is so different that I think it takes at least some trial and error to determine where your losing point is.
  • Thanks betsy2013 I don't know how I never saw that calculator online. It looks like I am in the right range for losing!
