    I completely agree - July 4th will be a good one but I do better with these short term ones to focus on. So I am thinking Easter or April Fools, then Memorial Day, then July 4th, then Labor Day, etc., etc. I need to keep going all year but that's too much to contemplate. But 6 or 8 weeks at a time? I can do that!
  • Battling with the scale this week to end up exactly where I was a week ago (and I mean EXACTLY! lol!) So I may not make my revised goal of getting into the 230s, but hoping to see some downward movement by the 14th.

    New Year's Resolution: By December 31st, 2013, I want to be back in Onederland and at a new low (under 198.8).

    From New Year's to Valentine's Day, my resolution is to be 245 or below (lose 12+ lbs) in the 230's.

  • New Year's Resolution: I want to become a runner in 2013. I started my Couch to 5K program on 1/2/13 and I would like to sign up for a 10k this year.

    From New Year's to Valentine's Day, my resolution is: to complete my Couch to 5K running program. I love running outside so I hope the weather won't be too miserable.

  • 5 weeks in for me: on target
    New Year's Resolution: Get my blood sugar level and cholesterol under control. I had tests today, with my fasting at 107 (which is great for me), and I'll find out later this week about the rest of the numbers.

    From New Year's to Valentine's Day, my resolution is: Keep a food journal, not snack at work, and walk at least 20 minutes 5 days a week.

    Week two (ends Jan 12th): Food journal kept, no snacking at work, and walked every day--17-40 minutes
    Week three (ends Jan 19th): Food journal kept, adjusted to planned snacking at work, and walked every day--17-40 minutes
    Week four (ends Jan 26th): Food journal kept, limited to planned snacking at work, and walked 6 days out of 7--16-45 minutes
    Week five (ends Feb 2nd): Food journal kept, limited to planned snacking at work, and walked 5 days out of 7--16-45 minutes, 2 days of 30DS

    I am so on target with my goal. I've also lost almost 9 lbs. I was hoping for a faster weight loss, but I remind myself that it's not a sprint.

  • April is right, mini goals keep us on track without overburdening us with the "big picture."
  • I need to lose .6lbs by Thursday morning to make my 20lb Valentine's Day challenge. I think I can do it!!!

    I like the idea of April 15th which makes it about 8 weeks with March 17th about the halfway point.

    But I will do anything you ladies want, this really kept me focused and on target. I thought I was going to come up a pound or 2 short but my 3.8lb loss this morning saved me!

    I went with April 1, since that seemed more popular, plus Tax Day just isn't as much fun. The first week will be a short week, but then we will be synch to end right on the first of April.

  • I started at 227 and wanted to have an average loss of one pound per week in order to make it to 220. So far, so good. I weighed in at 221 last week and get to check my final bit of progress tomorrow (I weigh on Wednesdays). I've been staying on plan as usual, so I'm hoping to reap in the reward of reaching my goal! It's super-exciting since I haven't been anywhere under 220 since I was in junior high!

    I won't actually get to go to a fancy Valentine's dinner since we'll be celebrating FIL's birthday that day. Which is fine, lol . . . maybe I can wear the orange "goal" shirt for my birthday dinner on Saturday? I still haven't decided whether or not I'm comfortable in it yet.
  • I'm thinking I won't make it to the 230s on Thursday but then I realized how silly it was to get too hung up over that. I exceeded my original goal already, possibly I will even add a bit more to that total. And I'm close enough to the 230s to know I'll be there soon. I couldn't have said that on January 1 - I was close to being back into the 260s (all time high, at least at a time when I was getting on the scale). So whatever the number on Thursday, I am in a much, much better place than I was - and I know that with moving on to the next leg of this challenge, I'll be in a better place on April 1 than I am today.

    So it's all good.
  • I am so close I can taste it. I went on a mini vacation over the weekend and went off plan for a day or so. But I am hoping to get enough activity in to off set that pizza. :/ I really want to meet my v-day goal!
  • I can feel it... My prelim weigh in yesterday was exactly at goal, so now I just need to hold on! I do NOT want to miss my first checkpoint. If I make this goal, then I KNOW I can make my one year goal.

    267.5 and holding my breath until Friday weigh in....
  • Big final weigh in tomorrow!! I cant freaking wait. 0.1lb away from my Valentines goal. I may have to run up and down my stairs today just to be sure I make in it!!!
