referral?

    This is awkward but I noticed some user profiles have
    referrals and others none. What is a referral. Just
    wondering. Thanks if anyone knows this one.

    Might be wrong, but I think it's like if someone referred them to the site maybe?

    Actually it means that the user referred one or more people to the website. When new folks register, they put a member's name in the "referred by" field.
