  • i picked up my girls yesterday, and the lady from the animal rescue was so excited to see them adopted. they are slowly adjusting to their new home, alternately skittish and affectionate.

i've found that they are scared of the shadows the ceiling fan makes, and the television. they haven't been exposed to those kinds of things in a while. their previous owner's husband couldn't care for them properly, so they got left in a bare room with just a window, a litter box, and some food and water. hopefully they will adjust soon. tv/radio and ceiling fan (especially in the late summer in SC!) are kinda important for my daily life heh. anyway, pics!

brownie is an instigator! she will plot to attack her sister:

my little bit has a two face thing going on:

and my 'fraidy cat is wearing a roman collar! hubby (a preacher in training) says she's meant to be a preacher's cat

  • They're beautiful!

I'm fostering a cat at the moment that I'd love to find a home for. Kudos to you for adopting!
  • Beautiful! Congrats!
  • i have to share more pics!! these are a few i took today...

my girls have claimed this chair as their own. you can almost always find one (usually brownie) or both sitting in or on the chair somewhere.

pixie wanted to pay the electricity bill...

and brownie heard my cell phone ding with a text message and was going to answer it...
  • How adorable! Congratulations on adopting them; I hope you have many years of fun together.

Just love how they seem to be making themselves at home already!
  • i know tai! i'm pretty excited that they've just made themselves right at home. they are skittish in the morning, and pixie still jumps at sudden noises and runs if you approach her too quickly, but for the most part i feel like they know they are home
  • Great pics!
  • aww, what good looking cats. I had a tortie for 11 years. She had quite an attitude but I loved her. It's nice that yours are a set, since they're known for not liking other cats.
  • Awwwwwww, your furry girls are adorable. My two kitty babies are tortie and diluted tortie. I'm away from them right now, and I miss them so much.
  • So cute! I'm glad you decided to adopt adult cats.
  • Beautiful!
  • Precious!
  • Gorgeous!!
  • Beautiful kitties! Good for you for adopting Hubby and I adopted a border collie cross at the beginning of summer. It takes a while for them to feel safe and come out of their shell.. I bet you'll see some further personality developments in the next few weeks.
  • thanks everyone!

i got more pictures and a video of my babies

video is on youtube: http://youtu.be/HDPJ1fIAzLU (yes, that is my husband, and a bowl of dark chocolate kisses on the table. i'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate so it doesn't tempt me as much as the milk chocolate ones, but it does curb my cravings when i just *need* some chocolate)

    pics!
