  • Hello! Anyone doing the 90 day OA? That is the OA on the food plan. Today I am on day 5. I did this once before and lost almost 70 lbs, so I am looking forward to the weight loss.... I do LOVE the peace I feel when I follow the plan.

    Anyone else doing this?

  • I have never heard of a specific oa food plan. What does it all consist of? Id be interested in trying it!
  • I looked it up; the OA National Group does not have a food plan. There is a California group that is affiliated w/ OA that put together its own food plan. Maybe other groups follow it as well. But, to be part of OA, one can follow any food plan that they wish.
  • OA ninety day meetings are specifics within OA. If you go to the oa.org website and look at the telephone meetings and select the OA 90 day meetings and hop on one of those you will meet many others using this food plan. It is similar to the grey sheet. you can google grey sheet food plan too, but w/ OA food plan the main things are no flour, no sugar and no nutrisweet. I also weigh and measure all of my food. It really is freedom cuz I plan what I eat each day and eat what I plan. No binging, overeating or guess work involved. I got my food plan from this site: www.fulloffaith.com I also use the tools of the plan this time around which includes 3 outreach calls per day. Very inspiring!

    FAA (Food addicts anonymous) is also similar.

    I have an OA brochure that I got when I went to my first F2F meeting; it lists several food plans that one can chose to follow. Is that what you mean by the Gray Sheet?
  • The Grey Sheet was formulated I think in the 1970's. It is a very old OA food plan. I found it good, but I needed a grain, thus switched to OA 90 Day. I don't do F2F meetings although I would LOVE to, there are just not many around here. I do a lot of phone meetings, usually one a day. It was a lil hard in the beginning, no sugar or flour, but I have adjusted now.
  • Isn't it amazing how the cravings for the flour and the sugar go away after a couple of days?

  • I am back to OA 90 and have 33 days of abstinence! This is the longest I have gone w/out a single cheat! I feel so relieved of binging today! I really do not even think about food anymore between meals.
  • are you talking about oa or how/oa.i don't like being told what to eat
  • OA 90 is similar to OA HOW. Today I have 52 days of abstinence and the miracle is I have absolutely NO cravings whatsoever! I have lost 12 lbs and I feel incredible.

    For me I do like food plans because for me being a food addict I need boundaries.

    It doesn't work for everyone.
  • OA does not endorse any particular way of eating, even though there are suggested meal plans. One person's abstinence is not identical to the next.

    It has taken me the past three months to develop a food plan that works for me, thanks to my sponsor and a nutritionist. If you have a sponsor, ask him/her for help with a food plan.
