need artichoke help!!

  • So i purchased a whole artichoke and steamed it. i tried eating it whole (peeling the yummy part off the leaves with my teeeth as i read about) and dipping it in some honey dijon but, it isn't doing it for me. i still have the best part of the artichoke left.

    Anyone have a good vegan dip recipe? i hate to waste it.

    Also, what do i do different next time?

  • I don't know a dip recipe but they're great marinated in an italian dressing/oil & vinegar type dressing or in salads )
  • I don't do a dip. I steam or braise them. If braising, I use chicken broth. Both ways, I like olive oil, garlic, lemon, sea salt, cracked pepper, and heaps and heaps of fresh rosemary. You can use very very very little olive oil and you won't need any dip at all.

    For me, a dip is a waste of a good artichoke. They can be so expensive, I want to TASTE the thing!
