I feel sorry for whoever took them

  • At my office there tends to be a lot of treats floating around. This morning when I stepped into the lunch room there was a basket of mini hershey's bars - there were around 30 pieces. They were mostly the milk chocolate with almonds kind.

When I went to eat my lunch at 1:30, the basket was empty - save for 4 pieces of the regular milk chocolate kind. Based on the type of candy that was taken I bet that one person took it all. Can you imagine how many calories are in that stash? How many empty calories are being consumed?

I am by no means perfect, and it took a lot of willpower for me to resist having one this morning....but come on! 30 pieces of chocolate!
  • ROFL... and today, I threw away all my candies in my drawer because I know a lot of my coworkers are also watching what they are eating and trying to lose weight.
I indeed feel sorry for them.... :P
Maybe the person has 30 kids.... and was trying to use it for treat?
  • HAHAHAHA they do that at my office too

I keep threatening to put the SF chocolate in my candy dish!
  • Who knows?

I gave my husband a box of cookies to take to work (I wanted a couple but didn't want a box). He put the cookies out, within 2 hours they were all gone. I was a bit shocked but treats don't last there long.
  • That sounds like my office. People will bring treats in, people will converge on their desk, and the treats will be gone quickly. Hopefully it wasn't just one person taking all of that though.
  • Imagine what the inside of their trash can looks like with 30 little wrappers???

    LMAO!!
  • I doubt that it was one person. That hershey's mix has been very popular as "desk candy" for decades. When I worked in corporate cubicle land, the plain milk chocolate was always the last to go. Well, at least in the last decade. Before that, it was always the Special Dark that was last choice. Then dark chocolate became "health food" and the plain milk chocolate was left behind.

Also, I've noticed that people will rarely take the last couple pieces, so most of the chocolate would be gone in a flash, and the last two to four pieces would sit untouched forever. No one wanted to be seen taking the last piece(s).
  • The basket of chocolate was there for at least 2 days and was declining slowly. Believe me I know my co-workers.....they don't swoop down on treats like that....
  • I'm reminded of seagulls.
  • Ew, and Hershies isn't even nice chocolate! xD
  • I actually like Hershey's. It's the only milk chocolate, besides Godiva, that I like.

I hope it was more than one person as well. Then again, when I worked in an office type environment, I'd sit and eat half a bag of those little candy bars in one shift.
  • There's a bag of Hershey's dark chocolate kisses in our communal table right now!!! I wish someone would take it all!!! So tempting....

I didn't want to take any at first, but I checked the nutritional info and 8pcs = 180 calories. I took 4 for myself... and logged them faithfully in my tracker. But I'm satisfied after 3 pcs and I'm saving the other one for tomorrow.

My boss kept laughing when she saw me checking for the calories though =/
  • That would be so tempting to me. I love chocolate. But I'm trying to at least buy chocolate with better ingredients (like cacoa) instead of going for the cheapest (which means there's more for me to eat). I found this chocolate that has chili peppers in it, and all of the ingredients are things that I've heard of, and its made into five decent-sized bars (which are under 200 cals each). I'm not saying that it's healthy, but it's more satisfying, and I eat less of it.

No kidding! We've had cake in our office for 3 days! And before that was cookies. Before that another cake that was there for another 3 days. It's endless
