  • I searched and have not seen that anyone has started a post for New Years goals, so here goes. Though most of us are already on this weight loss-healthier lifestyle-new way of living journey, the New Year brings an idea of new resolutions. Do you want to lose more weight or inches? Focus on being healthier, exercising more? I say we start here and post month to month goals, triumphs, defeats and support.

My personal goals for 2011 are:

Exercise 5x a week (cardio and weights)
Get Dr approval to ride horses again.
Lose 30 lbs. SW: 170 as of 12/27/10
Take vitamins every day and focus on healthy from the inside.
Run a marathon with my Aunt.

Now, short term goals, for January 2011:
Start low cal/low carb eating again, being strict.
Add greens drinks and plenty of water.
Lose 7 lbs. SW: 170 as of 12/22/10. GW 163 as of 1/28/10

    Who is with me?
  • OK I'm hearing you! Just getting (slowly) back on the wagon after falling off several months ago..... My month-long binge though, has got to stop--TODAY!

My goals for the long-term are to get back to a dedicated 5 days/week exercise habit. Weight goal is to finally get to 150. After losing the weight I've backslid on!.....

    SW: 199
    CW:199
GW: 150 (by next New Year's)
GW for Jan. 2011: 194 (I can do that!)
  • I just had my tonsils out yesterday, after having strep throat for 2 solid months. Once I get over this, I'll need to lose about 5 pounds I'd gained back due to lack of exercise and not eating 100% on food plan. I'd been too sick for OA meetings, but plan on going this week, even if I can't talk yet lol.
I can't wait to work out at the gym and not get so dizzy I worry about collapsing, lol!
  • OK yesterday, I did get home and go to the gym! Amazing for me! I ran on treadmill 16 minutes and then did the elliptical about 21 minutes.

That is huge, for me. While I do meet with a trainer once/week, the last self-directed exercise was before, um, let me think, well I think it was before Halloween!

Well, my theory about not paying attention to your food intake and only exercising 1x/week was proven true! You DO get out of shape and start gaining weight (haha!) No more testing needs to be done!........
  • I guess mine is kind of simple. I just want to get back into school and do well and do better with my health overall...
  • My new years resolution is to unpack (properly) after any trip that I go on withing 36 hours of returning home. My boyfriend is immensly happy to hear of this resolution but wonders if the bag from our trip to Hawaii (two weeks ago) is in some kind of loop-hole and might never be properly unpacked...
  • I'm not making any New Years Resolutions this year. Too many go uncompleted. Anything that is meant to happen will happen for me. I can say, that I will definitely be much more healthy and fit by the end of 2011 though. =]

Good luck everyone on your goals and resolutions!

OMG I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that does this! Doesn't matter if its a weekend trip or longer, I am horrible at actually unpacking my bags when I get home. Its like actually admitting that the vacation is over. So sad! LOL.
  • Mine is to get to my goal weight by mid year and also quit smoking by mid year.

Good luck on reaching your goal weight and extra special sparkly luck to quitting smoking! ^_^

  • My new years resolutions:

    1) Go deeper and further in to my yoga practice
    2) Meet my goal weight by mid February
    3) Quit smoking
  • @Peaches5577 - I am equally glad to hear that I am not alone on this. Care to join me on the resolution????
  • My resolution is to not make one big resolution and instead to make weekly goals. Whenever I've done one resolution it's felt overwhelming and I haven't ever accomplished one. So my new outlook this year is to take EVERYTHING one week at a time. Eating plans, exercise plans, cleaning my house plans, everything. It scares me to think about losing thirty pounds. But I can lose five pounds. And then another five. And another. So that is my goal. To grab my fork and knife and cut my goals into smaller, more bite-sized pieces!

Definitely! My boyfriend will be happy about this one too :-)
  • Mine are: bring my lunch to work daily/ workout 3+ days a week/ give up soda completely/ try and eat healthier everyday. So far so good.
