Low Point Snack Suggestions

  • Now that the plan has changed, I am trying to compile a list of low point snacks. Aside from fruit (which is free), what have people found to be a good choice for snacking?
  • 1 point of pretzels (count out the little rods or twisties). Yum!
  • I generally just have a yogurt at some point during the day.

Or fruit later in the day.

Munching on stuff throughout the day is either a sign that you are bored, or need more substance in your meals.
  • I like to have a snack after I go to the gym or ride bike, and I usually mix a carb and protein. I like the Light Baby Bell cheeses and Jones Canadian bacon for the protein. The latter tastes better than any Canadian bacon I've ever tried, and you can have three slices for 1 point. For the carb I usually add fruit. If your energy is flagging and you need a heftier afternoon snack, the Hebrew National 97% fat-free kosher franks are 1 point, and the Sara Lee Dee-Lightful buns are 2 points, so you can have a hot dog for 3 points. Some days I get hungry during the day, and some days I don't. I find a snack is good to keep hunger at bay so I'm not ravenous at meal times.
  • hum.. I seem to not snack. I don't know why. but I guess if you count a mini box of raisins a snack, I guess that works, it's 1 point.
  • Lowfat string cheese is good and satisfying. I usually have that before bed to hold my over!
  • Kroger brand carbmaster yogurt. YUMMO and 2 points!
  • I usually snack on and ounce of two of Hummus and sliced Red Pepper or Carrot Sticks =D
  • i also have a low fat cheese stick. don't know what it is about it, but it can hold me over nicely. i also love activia yogurt. i haven't started the new plan, but on the old one it is 2pts.
  • I typically snack on cut veggies - peppers, carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes.

I have to eat every 3 hours otherwise I just feel icky and/or overeat at my next meal. Its better to keep the hunger monster at bay
