  • I thought I would do another progress thread, my last one was when I was halfway to goal at 27 lbs lost.

As of today, I have lost 45 and a half lbs, and have only 8.8 lbs to goal (I rounded it up to 10 for the title ) Here's a quick summary of my journey so far:

I started this journey originally a year ago and stopped around Christmas time after losing about 16 lbs. During this time I quit smoking and focused on training at work. In April I revamped my diet due to finding out I had a gluten intolerance, I also started weighing daily again.

In May I started adding in work outs, 30 day shred and finding other stuff to do around the house for exercise. I joined a gym in the summer and played around with learning how to run and doing a weight lifting circuit about four days a week. I don't like endurance exercises and wanted to try and strength training, my weight wasn't moving anymore as well.

I started weight lifting and dropped some more weight, started building some awesome muscles. In September I started stalling again and almost came to the point where I was going to maintain at around 160 lbs. It then clued into me that I needed a structured eating plan.

That's when I went to Atkins, it's been almost a month on it and I've lost almost 12 more lbs since then. I ate similary to how the diet was so there wasn't much to modify, and it works well for me.

Here's some progress pics! (I take a lot of bathroom photos, it just makes it easier)

First is at 194.4, I feel like I don't recognize myself anymore. The second is me mid May when I started to lose the weight again, I think I was about 180-178. Third is mid to late June. I'll admit I am sucking in my tummy a bit, I think I was just trying to show the difference in my body in the wrong way, haha. I was in the low 170's-high 160's. Fourth was taken Oct 6th, I was at 152.

Last was taken this morning at 148.8. Excuse the messy room, I was getting ready for work and my fiance was nice enough to take that from bed, haha. I love that I can fit my calves into boots now and buy clothes at regular sized shops. When I look at the first and last together, it's still hard to believe that was ME. I'm just so glad I took the action to better myself.

Thanks for all the support, 3FC! (And thank god my boobs never shrank!)

  • That is so awesome!! Congratulations!!!
  • Congratulations!!!!!! Wonderful job!!
  • That is so exciting! You look wonderful!!!!
  • Thanks guys! I am really excited!

I remember when i went from being obese to just plain overweight. now I'm 3.8 lbs from a 'normal' weight

I set a goal of 140 because I'm fairly curvy and carry a lot of weight in my chest, and it's five lbs under a normal bmi.
  • You look fantastic!
  • Wonderful!!!
  • You look fantastic Stephanie! Congrats!
  • StephanieM -- I have been following you for a long time and I'm so impressed to see your progress! I also linger about 15 lbs from goal so I have gone back to SB phase 1 (no sugar, no carbs).
  • You look amazing, Stephanie!! Love your boots in the latest pic
  • you look so awesome! congrats!!!
  • Amazing!! Thanks for sharing
  • Congrats! You already know how I feel about your progress. How is Atkins going for you? I mean, how do you feel physically with it? Are you at the maintenance portion of it? Just curious! (I started off my weight loss journey the last week of May with low-carb eating, but I just couldn't manage it. So my hat is definitely off to you! Obviously you found a way to do it that is tasty and nutritious. For me, it was the same foods over and over and over again...)

Anyway...congratulations again! Your first and last photos are so dramatically different next to each other!
  • Thanks Val, Marci, LindsB, LoveRyGuy, Onederchic!

    Girlinwaterglobe
, same here! Ever since I've seen you kicking around the 20's forum I've really followed you due to the fact we're similar in height and goal, but you've come about 10 lbs farther! It's cool your doing South Beach, I'm doing Atkins and had to go back to phase one because the weight just stopped.

Ruby, having my calves fit in boots in the best feeling ever. And the fact I can get some jeans in there now just rocks it for me!

FivestoneAtkins is going good, I find I'm never hungry (the carb and sugar cravings do dissappear), and I love the energy I have. It's a big shift to get used to it, but I ate similar to it anyways just too many gluten free breads and pastas (which are way higher calorie then regular stuff!) I lost 8 lbs my first week on it which showed me it does work. Once I get to goal I'm going to add 10 net carbs back each week until my weight stabilizes.

    Thanks again to everyone!
  • You look great! Congratulations on your loss!
